Raiding Right

Ok so, on my server I have noticed a number of people who are jumping into pugs or getting accepted to guilds and having NO idea of what they are doing on raid night
So let me explain to you how to be a successful raider
Step 1. Proper Gems/Enchants, yes i know 10 stats and 63sp or 110 ap are expensive but get them on the first acceptable piece of gear (ilvl200 epic), next gems, Please, pay the extra gold for 19sp or 32ap rather than going with the lower tier ones, and NEVER tbc gems, this will increase your dps/hps/tps by a lot
Step 2. Consumables
Always flask up (unless you are way overgeared for the content) and use pots on fights, with the mana regen abilities of most classes wild magic pots should be used on every fight (or speed pots), Lastly bring your own food, some classes and fish feasts do not mix as well as +crit food,+haste,+hit, +(fill in the blank)
Step 3. Learning class mechanics
Elitistjerks.com, go there, read the stickies, learn the stickies, recite the stickies to yourself, know them by heart
Step 4. Gathering professions
If you are going to be a serious raider on you need to drop the gathering profs and pick up the crafting ones (jcing/?) depending on class, the bonuses the gathering profs give are next to worthless so therefore crafting is necessary
Step 5. Etiquette
Be on time, know fights, do what is needed of you
