0. I want to start off by saying there I know there is alot of different Recruit a friend guides out there. However, these "guides" seem very vague, and generally consist of the standard: "Go to X instance at Y level, and have a friend power you through it". While that is essentially the 'main' way of doing Recruit a friend, some people don't have a level 80 to use. I also feel that those type of guides don't go specifically into each class, which is what I hope to accomplish.
There are going to be a few acronyms that are used alot, and I am just going to cover the most used ones quickly. Most of the ones I wont cover are more class specific, but im assuming that since you would have an 80 of that class, that you can figure them out.
RAF - Recruit a friend (Kind of obvious)
GL - Grant Level
IC - Instance cap
PL - Powerlevel (I will normally use this term when referring to rushing thro an instance, not powerleveling in general)
1. Heres where I insert me own generic "Best instance" table, probably wont differ from others much, but I personally find it the best.
Horde
1-8, Leveling. Doesn't require a level 80, but a set of gear with spirit on it, or agi (Spirit for casters, agi for melee) makes it go faster.
8-10(12), RFC. I myself finish at 10, however there is a quest available at level 10 for rfc, might make you want to do it again.
10(12)-20, SFK. The main reason I start SFK at level 10, is its a great way to farm BOE blues. I have an easy method to find them, which I will explain in section 3.
20-(35)40, SM. This is the most boring part of my section, you WILL despise sm when your done. I recommend doing both Armory and Cath before resetting.
Optional 35-40, ZF. Since you will get bored of SM, there is always ZF, I personally dont do it though, as I can't aoe it, and I dislike it... alot more then sm.
40-45, BRD. This instance has its ups and downs. It drops Ribsplitters, which are really good for 49 twinks, but it can be slow if not pulled right, which takes the proper class
45-55, Strat. Once again this instance has its ups and downs. Lots of things to de for profit, as well as righteous orbs. But you best have a cleanse, the debuffs suck.
55-60, Questing/Ramps. I personally quest, im normally burnt out of instance running by this time, but it's all personal preference.
Alliance
1-10, Leveling. Doesnt require a level 80, but a set of gear with spirit on it, or agi (Spirit for casters, agi for melee) makes it go faster.
10-15, VC (DM). Kind of a pain for Aoe type classes.
15-20, Stocks. Awesome for aoe, but bad drops.

1.1. Heres the part for some debating. With the new BOA shoulders, as well as the soon-coming BOA Chest (3.2), you can get a perminant 20% more exp (Which adds up to ether 364%, or 360%. Going to need to test when it comes out to be sure). However, the new account cannot get this (easily at least), so it can cause large gaps in level difference. With the new Fire festival coming out this weekend, its another 10% (Assuming the buff is still there), which then makes 400% exp or 390%, again needs testing to be sure.
Now that effects both instances and questing, so really theres not much to debate with that, but the new mount changes, it can vastly increase questing speed. Another thing to remember is IC's, which are extremely annoying and time-wasting. I plan on doing RAF once again when 3.2 comes out. I will test both instancing and questing, and if this thread is still around I will update to say what I found faster.
2. There arn't many useful items for PLing in instances, other then a few I can think of to remove debuffs, Free Action Potion - Item - World of Warcraft and Restorative Potion - Item - World of Warcraft are really helpful for BRD and Strat respectively.
Even simple things for questing like regular pots, swiftness potions and the likes, are helpful for questing. Remember, the less deaths, the faster you level.
Also, dont forget to get a BOA weapon if you can, they help alot.
3. I was hoping to make this portion a little more class specific than the rest, such as tricks for instance PLing for each class, however I only play a warrior, so if anybody has reccomendations for what to say for specific classes, pm me or post here. I would recommend you check out http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...ing-guide.html if you plan to PL your alts with a warrior.
However I do know some more generalized tips.
Im sure everyone wants to find blues that drop in instances, but dosent like looting every body. What you can do is set it to group loot, set teh loot threshold to rare, and turn pass on loot ON. This mill make only bodies with blues on them shine, but that character cannot roll on them, so be careful.
Dual-specs is also useful for instance PLing. For example, I do 2 pulls in BRD as arms on my warrior, but the next 3-4 I do as prot.
Characters done share summon CD's. If you need to somewhere across the map, make a new character that is near there and summon your friend, then he can summon your 'main' character.
As I said before, getting non-binding items that level 1's can use, and putting agi or spirit/int enchants on them can increase leveling speed from 1-8/10 a lot. However, you can always just use BOA weapons, which are much more effective. (Crusader on a level 1 warrior is EXTREMELY helpful, you can 1 shot mobs!)
While your questing, remember that your aoe attacks on things like whirlwind and divine storm are wasted with just one mob. There IS 2 of you, it wont hurt to pull 3 or 4 at once. Also, questing and instance PLing arn't the onyl 2 options, aoe grinding on character combos like Paladin/Druid or Mage/Priest are really fun, which makes up for them being a tiny bit slower. You can easily google to find good aoe spots. Even more common sense things like, downloading quest helper, or following a leveling guide, can increase the speed of leveling that tiny bit. There is alot of different ways to level, RAF just makes them all 3x faster.
