I can't seem to get a good exp rate as a mage. The "safe spot" only has access to half the mobs, and some will evade on me without even being attacked.. and 90% of the time the ones I do attack turn to me and evade anyway even if I wait for them to be hit by an npc first.. if I go to the risky spot, I just get attacked by everything, at level 64, halp.

Tried it on my dk.. works great, pity I can't get it to work so well as a mage.

I tried from a 58 dk and was pretty easy/quick to get up.

To answer my own question, I got off my lazy butt and headed out to the Fjorde. Although the majority of my shots missed (Arcane, Multi, Auto), I had the most success using my Serpent Sting (DoT) to tag the mobs.

I died a few times, but was able to level to 38 in about 45 minutes. I was getting (approx.) 500xp (rested) per mob if I was able to tag them at full health. The biggest prob I had was with the Dragonflayer Vrykul due to their ranged attack. The wolves I could tag a few with a lucky Multi & kite them w/ Cheetah until they were picked up by the NPCs.

Over all, not a bad place for mindless levelling. One thing I noticed, and this could be a coincidence or perhaps Blizzard made some secret changes, my pet levelled a lot faster then i recall from my previous Hunter toon. (mind you, I was only level 36 to 38 and it's been a long time since I levelled a pet)

It's funny that this thread constantly gets bumped, when my thread about how to do this afk doesnt even get views xD

I've leveled a character from 60-66 by using an afk method of this over just two nights, while I was sleeping. (and I didnt level any during those days)

And those two nights were total failures really. The first one I died, and the second one I had run out of arrows lol. I bet you could get like 4 levels over one night, if all goes smooth.

Still working. Made over 600K an hour in a better "sweet spot" than this guy shows in video. Had a really good healer. 58-68 in 6.16 hours. (37Mins a level).
