Easy AH monopolies: Abyss Crystals

Hello I'm making this guide for those people who want to make a lot of money by reading the guides saying "play the AH" but can't. This is a simple trick you could do that I always do and it gives me a constant supply of cash to fund my raiding and also some extra luxuries in the game.

All right the first thing you need to do is go to the Auction House in whatever faction city you go to and search for Abyss Crystals. Find any of the crystals that are selling below 70gold buyout and buy them. Make sure you have a lot of money before you do this just in case you have to take out competition. Once you have a healthy amount of crystals and none of the abyss crystals that are left are below 70 gold, start placing them back onto the auction house for 70 gold a piece by two or three characters that you have. Undercut each other by a few silver so you seem to be at the top. This gives the image that the market for Abyss Crystals is too competitive for someone else to join. Don't make names like "AHbankerone" "Ahbankertwo" and use them. Make them different so people don't suspect your the same person ;p

Refined version:

1. Buy out any of the Abyss Crystals below 70 gold.
2. Resell them back on the AH for 70 gold each crystal.
3. Sell the crystals using separate characters to fool the other competitors.
4. ?????

Not bad, though you have to be prepared to purchase new crystals priced below yours or else you'll never be able to sell any. One tip I'd offer is to use auctioneer, set it up to scan in real time, with Abyss Crystals in the snatch module.. Keep that running whenever you're at the computer and be ready if any new auctions show up.

Over time you could end up with an overabundance of Abyss Crystals, meaning at some point you'll eventually have to end your monopoly and slowly offload them.

Nope. On a fairly decent sized server, you can easily sell these even if they aren't the lowest price. Since this stuff is in high demand, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yep there are people who spaz out with their shiny new ulduarz gears and they just so happened to be in Orgrimmar and they just so happened to search for Abyss crystals... and yours is at the top

I ended up with 120 crystals on my first Abyss Crystal raid. It's going to depends a lot on your server, but going after Crystals could easily involve 10K to 20K in gold just to get started.

Your primary competition isn't other Crystal sellers, it's guild banks that pass them out for free. Keeping ahead of suppliers is fairly easy, but most of your buyers aren't getting their through the AH.

Those steps were just for fun m8 Plus, you DID smile, didn't you? :P

Yeah the crystals would go for a lot but if you buy for example 1 crystal for 50g, wait for the AH to move around and suddenly you find crystals going for 80g a pop. Then you sell it for 70. Thats if you have a small amount of gold.

Some good advice would be to go do your dailies and when you have your gold from that you can buy 2-3 crystals or so.
