So, as we all know, the warlock is the best class in the game. Of course, the Death Knights keep trying to say they're better because they can solo old raid content. Well, Warlocks can too.
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
This is the spec you should use, here's a quick rundown of key talents:
- Imp Corruption - More Corruption damage is more healed by Siphon Life
- Soul Siphon - More healing from drain life
- Fel Concentration - Reduces interruption while using drain life
- Empowered Corruption - More corruption damage is more healing
- Shadow Embrace - Increases Corruption's damage
- Siphon Life - Allows Corruption to heal you
- Shadow Mastery - More damage AND healing. Quite nice.
- Fel Synergy - Allows your DPS to also heal your pet, meaning that you won't need to use health funnel as much
- Imp Health Funnel - Very important, it reduces damage taken by your pet while under Health Funnel, while reducing its cost.
- Demonic Brutality - You're using your Void to tank, this increases threat generation
- Soul Link - Keeps you alive when you pull aggro
- Demonic Aegis - Increases the health generated by your spells, meaning more healing done by you (Health Funnel) and to you (Drain Life). Also increases the armor given by Demon Armor by a bit, meaning less damage taken.
- Mana Feed - Your Void will run out of mana eventually without this
- Master Demonologist - 10% damage reduction with the void out.
- Demonic Resilience - Reduces chance to be crit, and reduces damage taken by your pet.
- Molten Skin - Flat 6% damage reduction
Basically, with the above spec you should have no problem at all with survivability. One thing to consider, though, is not being able to recieve a critical strike. If your gear permits it, try to get the extra 2.6% crit reduction from resilience gear. This isn't that important, however.
Being Hit capped is also useful, but not so much as it would be in a raid setting. I aim for about 300 hit rating, which is around 11% increased chance to hit.
For glyphs, i chose Siphon Life, Soul Link, and Corruption. Siphon life is a must, soul Link is just useful, and Corruption is only a filler.

The general Tactic:
Basically, you will be using your Voidwalker to tank. Send him in and DoT up the boss after the second use of Torment. Keep a low rank of health funnel on your pet to reduce incoming damage as well as to keep him topped off. Remember, since Health Funnel has a heath cost, it's not affected by the cost increase of down ranking.
Depending on the boss, you may need to put up some DPS in order to take it down fast enough to avoid enrage timers. If you do this, the odds are you will pull aggro. That's fine, because you picked up those affliction talents to increase the effectiveness of drain life. Keep up both Corruption and Curse of Agony, and cast shadowbolts when nightfall procs. Death coil now heals for 40% of the damage that it does so it's a good "oh crap" spell when you need healing. The damage that you do should be enough that with Fel Synergy, your pet will not die.

Special Fights:
ONYXIAShe's definately a tough fight. She has an annoying ability that reduces the threat on whatever target that she's attacking by a percentage. This means that you will, guaranteed, pull aggro. She also has a knockback that means that you need to be careful about positioning. Put your void behind onyxia's original position, so that the knockback puts him into the wall instead of out of the room. You should stand off to the side, close enough to Onyxia that she doesn't move when she turns to attack you. The knockback should not affect you, as you seem to be pulled back to your original position after you land.
In phase 2, you will be swarmed by whelps. Your first instinct might be to use seed of corruption, right? DON'T! Use regular Corruption on every whelp. You'll want the healing from siphon life. Then, when the whelps are fully DoT'ed, focus on Onyxia. Make sure to keep an eye out for deep breaths and stand off to the side. It counts as an AoE, so your void shouldn't take too much damage from it.
Phase 3 is the same as phase 1.

And that's it! I'm working on individual boss strategies right now, so expect those to be up within a week or two. Good luck!
