Good Guide, Just want to point out one other thing about Roleplay. Just like most things in WoW it takes time. I know when I first started Roleplaying I knew nothing. But thats the great thing about RP'ers they know if your bad or just starting out and if you try to RP they will help you alot of the time. If your Ally most of the time everyone will be at the Lion's Head Inn in Goldshire just go there and listen and see how detailed everyone is during thier conversations. Just thought I could help. this is really cool but in my oppions roleplaying is what you make it and these are good guide lines to follow i think.

Thanks well yes i think i saw about 30 players in Lion's Pride Inn yesterday and another 20 outside it was a cool feeling to see so many players in Goldshire and yes Roleplaying is detailed but you learn later on. In the beginning it could be good to follow these lines

I don't really understand the whole roleplaying thing, I'm not one who really gets into that kind of stuff. Kind of reminds me of the anime nerds and cosplay..just not my thing. hehe. But it seems like something you really enjoy doing and I give you props for writing a really great, informative guide.

This actually reminds me of this troll toon on my pve server, and he/she always chats in troll talk. Like they ended their sentences w/ mon and stuff. It was kind of annoying and funny at the same time. Half the time we couldn't understand what they were saying. We had run a string of heroics and at the end of it, that toon had said to us, I be cookin up fish at me campfire, mon. And then they just logged off. (I just assumed they had to go eat some dinner or whatever.) It was funny to see it on a pve server. lol. But anywhoo I'm rambling. Nice guide and if I ever decide to roleplay I'll be sure to look this up!

Roleplaying servers are a place for peoples to be their character, give their characters a personality. You act as your char.

This is pretty damn awesome for me tbh. As soon as i get my new computer i'm starting back on wow. Re-rolling horde on an rp server .

Get the ImmersionRP addon ... it allows you to add more info to your tooltip, and alter how your name appears to other irp users.

Hit the / key and walk instead of run.

These are considered a pair of prime signals to other RP-ers that you are there for RP.

You might also want to check if there is a HordeRP or an AlliedRP ( or AllianceRP ) chat channel active on your realm.

Good tips. I'm more partial to the MyRoleplay myself, but I hear good things about Immersion. I would also recommend BattleCry -- it's a mod that lets you set predetermined quotes whenever certain actions are performed or on specific triggers. Use it sparingly, though.

Outfitter or another equipment manager is handy to have as well. I like to keep a few changes of clothing on hand for whatever event I may wander into. A casual set, a heroic set, etc.

If you really want to give it your all, read a few articles or pick up a book on characterization. It helps make your character a little more real and believable to give them some history.

also when you go afk you can do /think it says [toons name] is lost in thought like lets say bob is lost in thought i do that when i go afk on a rp server
