Now before the flaming begins YES I know that some of this information has been posted before. I am NOT taking credit for this all I am doing is putting a list together of useful sites with hints / tips on getting the most from them.
If you have any more sites similar to these or that you think should be on here then PM me and I will add them to the list.
This is a pretty good site that enables you to load you character directly from the armory or your WoW client (Incase the Armory has not updated with your most recent gear enchants.
Once your character is loaded it will give you hints and tips on what you need to be focusing on.
The things you are going to see are -
Issues - What you need to be looking at to improve your character
Itemization - Click on the + below any of your items and it will link you to WoW head with a list of all items better than yours.
Enchants - What you have right, what is ok ( and what would be better) and what you don't have enchanted at all.
Sockets and Gems - What gems you have (with a total of what bonuses you are getting from your gems), what socket bonus you have missed out on and if you have any gems that need improving (such as low quality gems).
Combat - Advice on combat stats (HR being the most common) on my Shaman it told me both my spell HR and melee HR, where all my HR was coming from (Items / Talents / Racials) and also how far off the HR Cap I was.
Talents - For some classes and builds it will actually give you advice on your talents. However this is yet to be working for everything as it wouldn't comment on my Shaman but gave me some advice on my Mage.
Summary - A gear report. It will give you a gear level and also show where most of your gear upgrades would come from (Red Bar) and where your character should be raiding with its current gear)
The sites layout is a bit poor and you have to click on a lot of "..." links to get information you actually require. However the useful"?" links that take you to relevant pages (such as detailed information about HR on the wowwiki site) is useful and a great place to start!
Personally one of my favourite sites when trying to improve your gear. It is a lot clearer for showing you what gear upgrades you should be looking to get, where they are from and what kinda DPS they are going to give you.
I have tried to load my character onto this site before and can never seem to get it to work properly so I haven't been using that side of it. All you need to is click on your class and what build you are using. Now not all builds are there but a lot are so give it ago and hopes yours is :P
Only you have you class and build selected it will either give you a suggested rotation or for some classes (such a Moonkin) to select which rotation you are using.
Now this site will let you do a few things. The first, and the main reason I use this site, is to select what you are currently raiding. So for example lets say i have hit 80 a few days ago and have done a few instances and am now looking to go for some heroics. I would untick all the 25 man, 10 man and emblem items (ticking to include different item qualities is up to you - again for my shaman I clicked yes include leather as I don't care what I am wearing I just want whatever is going to give me the best DPS) and then click "Submit Item Options".
Now simply scroll down the page and you have a list for every single socket of what items are best for you from everything you have selected. Great for when you are starting to get gear as you can see what crafted gear is better for you then heroics, what heroics to go to to get your gear...etc. And even now in ulduar I can do a search and it will tell me what DPS an item is giving me, letting me way up whether to spend DKP on it, wait for a better one to drop...etc.
As well as this the site will let you upload your stats / talents and give you an estimate of what your DPS should be and how much each stat is going to increase your DPS.
Overall a bit more confusing to use than Be Imba, but once you get used to it it is brilliant. And so good to have open during raids!
Hope this is helpful to some people and will as well grow! Again PM me or post below if you know of any other good sites you think should be here and I will continue to update them!
