    Battleground Guides/Premade Strategies

Hey, this is my first post here so I hope you like it. I decided to do a BG guide. This is for both horde and alliance.

    Warsong Gulch

In WSG most teams immediately go to the side ramp of your base to get the flag. Send maybe 6 or 7 of your team's players to block your entrances to stop them from coming in. At the same time send the players that aren't blocking to get the enemy's flag. Once you get it, go down the side closest to your graveyard. When you get to the opposite side of the map, cut across the field and head into your base. If somehow the other team got your flag, simply send some hunters to the enemy base and use the track humanoid ability (you can also use other classes.) During this time, your flag bearer will be hiding. Try to avoid hiding on your roof because thats the first spot your enemy will check. Some good places are, by your graveyard, behind walls, and behind stairs. Make sure you have some guards with your bearer. Once you return your flag to your base it's score 1 for your side. After this just try to do the same thing, except try to hide in a different spot if you have flag each time.

    Arathi Basin

As soon as the game starts send 1 person to cap the place clostest to your starting point. Make sure your team also gets the Lumber Mill because you can call out incoming horde/aliiance on the places you've already capped. The main goal is to have 3 or more places that gather resources. A great place to have is the Blacksmith so try to cap it, since it's in the middle of the map, you can rez there and assault a place easily.

Some different ways of capping a flag are

Zerging- Send a bunch of players to just force your oppenents into submission.

Ninjaing-Sending a rogue or druid to a lightly defending flag, try using this when the other team is zerging.

Crowd Control: Use a crowd control ability on a single defender to stun them long enough for you to assault the flag.[/LIST]

If you can get all 5 bases, then push against the enemy starting zone so they'll be trapped.

    Alterac Valley

Alterac Valley is a race to kill the opposing general. After the game starts, send a couple players on defense and all the rest on offense (if you want extra honor capture the mine clostest to your fortress.) When you travel down the road you'll eventually come to the first fortress with a boss in it. The boss can be skipped but it's better killing because you'll get extra honor and the other team won't get a buff. Next up you'll run into the first tower and graveyard. Kill the Lieutenant patrolling by it and kill the commander inside the tower as well. Once you assault the flag, MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE 2-3 PEOPLE GUARDING IT. Not guarding a tower can change the battle. Towers give you another warmaster. Not guarding a graveyard can lead to a "turtle" which is when everyone on your team is on defense and the match can go on for hours. Keep on doing this until you get the the enemy keep. Once you've assaulted both graveyards by it, wait until the one outside it has capped before pulling warmasters(Stormpike Graveyard for alliance, and Frostwolf Graveyard for horde.) Also if you want more honor, capture the other mine. After it caps, it's time to pull the warmasters. Try to pull 1 or 2 warmasters at a time. 3+ is just too many and it will wipe your raid. After you pull some of the warmasters the 2nd graveyard will cap, so you'll have a shorter walkback time. After all warmasters are dead charge into the keep and start attacking the general. Once hes dead you win!

    Eye of the Storm

The Eye of the Storm is a mix between WSG and AB. The objective is to hold as many towers as you can, then bring the flag in the center of the map to one of the towers your faction controls. A good way to start is to capture the two towers on your side of the map and then push across the bridges to capture the other factions towers. Once you do this, send everyone in front of the place where your enemy starts the game except for a person who has a speed increase ability (rogue or druid) to capture the flag. Since the enemy has no towers, they will be forced to rez at their starting point.

Pretty obvious stuff if you've been in 5+ BGs, but can be good for newcomers to read
