Sartharion Lava Waves tip

As a lot of you know, during the Sartharion encounter (Whether you chose to do it with additional drakes or not) flame waves are the main problem groups encounter. Specifically in 25man if all your melee dps are getting hit this can take a lot of extra healing and stress.

A helpful way to avoid this when your melee are on Sartharion is to always have your camera facing north, as I do in the screenshot. (I couldn't give you an example during the fight as Im a tank in raids not melee) With your camera facing this way and you meleeing on the dps the south wave is unable to hit you. You can purely focus on sarth dps while having a clear view of the north wall, the only one that can hit you.

This means that the second you see the flame wave from the north you should move if you have any commen sense. Hopefully this will help those struggling!

Aye I know what you mean, I find it quite easy myself but some new people may find this gives them an advantage Aswell with multiple drakes and all that's going on it's easy to forget things like this.

L stands from wave from the left side (when you look at sartharion when entering) and R stands from wave from the right side.

Pretty simple knowing the exact spots to maximize dps as a caster. We use this start for sarth 3d 10 man, 4/10 people have their drakes now... still havent got mine :P

Technically speaking you are right, just run between the mfing gaps between the waves. Every idiot can beat sarth 3d 25 man these days, although most tend not to because people act retarded.

Sarth 10 3d is a completely different thing, especially if youre running it with 2 tanks 2 healers and 6 dds, or 3 tanks/2 heal 5 dd. or 3tanks 3 heal 4 dd.

In that case (for 10 mans) you need to optimize your location and movement as to minimise dps downtime, because the longer shadron lives or the more HP he has during the transition with vesperon landing.. the harder it will be for you depending on how many healers you have.

Having shadron at 50% and Vesperon just landed and putting up twilight torment, isnt that big of a deal if your players are pro, but the slightest mistake usually means a whipe, and by this time you can spend max 2 minutes because of cooldowns. So movement and placement is critical in this fight.

Another tip is that the lava blazes that "randomly" enrage(get big and red, and double in health) aren't actually random at all. The cause of it is lava blazes getting hit by lava walls. Also since it is an enrage, it can be removed by Tranquilizing shot and rogues anastetic poison (Fan of knives, shiv work great).

True, but a lot of people pug most of the content and aren't raiders by conventional means. And sarth with no drakes up, enraged blazes are a negligible, but when you start leaving drakes up and you get the fire debuff from shadron they can start hitting pretty hard. Granted it applies more the 10 man 3 drake than it does 25 man 3 drake.

low content is low, everyone knows the tactics and even sarth 10 man + 3 is pugable (did it 3 weeks ago, downed him 3rd try), i do 25 + 3 adds with my guild but i thinks its also pugable if you kick people failing in lava waved and voidzones...sunwell geared it was a dps problem, now you got a 47k hp dk maintank with his own cooldown-rotation (anti-breath talent-tree) and with naxx + malygos gear this encounter is realy easy if you have no peoble without movement in your raid

helpful tip camera zoom is maxed out, can see all waves comeing
