Sorry, can you point out where I claimed this was my work? The only thing I did was upload it for the masses. Capullo is a sellout and the only reason is money. If he wants credit, he can release it to the public.

in the past i posted the new version always to the public forum, until my thread was moved to elite-section. i had no access to the elite-forum yet.

i don't earn any money for this, i still have a paid carbonite account, because the addon is really great. for me its no problem, to share it with a leecher like you vallon1, but the mods of mmowned like it in the elite-section, so i have to follow the rules, or?

it takes me always few hours to remove the obfuscated shit and my account-data from the addon and to verify the code, so there is no way for the carbonite developer to ban my carbonite account. i also have to modifiy several functions, so you can use it with any chars/realms.

i don't know, where the virus-warning is coming from.
i only opened the Carbonite.tga (Logo) under Linux with gimp and just added the mmowned logo. the modification are all made under linux. i copied the Version only to my Windows PC to test it.

If you're not getting paid for this then I'd suggest you move to some other website that will.

I know you used to release it to the public, but when "they" clearly start ****ing over their users it should scream hightail it out of here.

Only thing I can say is stop supporting this website and the greedy people who alienate the exact people who made them what they are today.... just so they can line their pockets.

The simple and obvious truth is, they are using you and everyone else that gets these "elite" things from the sources to feed their scam.

I don't need to come here to get your release, I get it by other means but none of what I said was ever meant to say I didn't appreciate the time you take to provide this addon. I just have a problem with the way you go about distributing it, wasting talent on a garbage website like this.

I've been coming here for a long time now and learned a lot from being here. It used to be better before this site started to try and charge you for what it used to give out for free.

They really have started to forget their hacker code of ethics about giving freely the fruits of their labors and have instead become more interested in turning a profit by making its userbase pay for access to the information.

This place used to be able to pay for itself through advertisements, now they need membership fees.


If you want to look at it from a "Joe's" perspective:
I used to use carbonite for my alts because it looked nice and was a cool addon. Much better than Quest Helper. Then when I logon lately, I found that the addon no longer works because the creators programmed it to break after a certain time. Ok, cool. I got to redownload a new version, and now all of the sudden, they want me to PAY A SUBSCRIPTION for what I once used for free. Not just a one time download fee, a ****ing sub!

Now I think to myself, "shit, now what"? Then I realized that MMOWNED has always had my back in situations like this. Especially with things like Joanna's and Brian Kopp. I come here and login to search for something about Carbonite and much to my dismay I find nothing.

That's when I remembered that MMOWNED wants me to pay a subscription for something I used to come here to get for free too.

Turns out, I'd end up having to pay either way.

This place used to be about giving information to the masses. Now it's about how many "rep points" you have and how much money one can make off these subs.

It's a shame, really.

I miss the old days where "Zygor's in-game leveling guide" and "Derek’s Gold Mastery Guide" were the spam of the guides section, but now it's just crappy guides on how to get into the Alliance section of Dalaran. What good use is that??

I think you should at least have 10 rep to DL guides that cost money. Contributor is ridiculous, I'm just a casual wow player, how am i going to find cool explorations, exploits, and hacks??

I try to contribute, but it's hard when i get beaten with a stick because my post didn't have colored text, or it's a repost of a post from '06.

Same paying for "free uploaded" pay guides sucks! I understand that MMOwned need pay the bills but this gone to far.

the guide section is complete full with xxxk gold a xxxxx crap and most of them are copy/pass of other sites. A real shame this happened.
