    Some of these replies are amusing, just a few things id like to point out. hit/spell pen are the strongest gems for filling blue meta requirements if you aren't a JC. Str is better than expertise for unholy builds. These are the only 2 things i really found wrong.

    Are there any fights in WOTLK with bosses that have resistance to shadow/frost? I don't recall seeing any.

    As for the gems, I'll fix that.

    This thread has a great possibility to turn into special olympics.

    I've raided Malygos, Naxx and Sarth+3drakes in 25man since the beginning of December. I don't consider myself an awesome player, but I certainly know more of the class than many seem to. Some things that came into my mind while reading the thread:

    1) If you think Unholy Aura is useless, you need to pull your head out of your ass. The bigger the group, the bigger the benefit. In 25man raids, it can equal several hundred DPS, depending how much melee you have and of course how much you need to move in the fight. Back in TBC someone calculated that putting a speed enchant on your boots was a DPS increase if you had to move for 6.1 seconds during the whole fight. Unholy Aura is a lot better than a speed enchant in boots. You easily spend more time than 10 seconds moving in fights so the aura is a must, IMO.

    2) From what I know, in DPS specs hit > STR > expertise in gemming. Since STR has no cap, you should just gem for it after you've reached the hit cap. So no expertise gemming is needed. I might not be 100% right on this one, but I can still tell you that I do pretty decent DPS.

    3) The PVE content is very easy atm. You shouldn't be angry if the DK doesn't have a spec for maximum DPS. Talents like On a Pale Horse etc can be good for solo play as pushing awesome DPS is rarely required nowadays.

    4) Regarding the last part in the starting post, if you already have taken the DK in your group and observe his play, LOOK AT HIS DPS. If you see some green-geared elemental shaman do more damage than your DK, there's something wrong with him. Especially if you follow the advice to pick an ilvl 213-geared DK, he should do well over 2500 dps in a raid situation.

    Since most 2h tank weapons are in the ~3.5 speed range, and most tanking weapons are in the 1.8 neighborhood, in a 60 second time frame
    Find me a two handed tanking weapon.

    It is the 3rd best geared DK on my server.
    I raid and clear all content in under 4 hours every week, getting sarth+3 and mally 5 mins every week, and has been doing so for... too long.. wtb new content.
    I was realm first to get both Black proto drake and plagued proto drake.



    Needless to say, im more than qualified enough to say this guide is shit.

    Actually unholy aura is not a bad talent, ever been to naxx and do the safety dance? helps your raid VERY much to have that boost in movement speed. along with sartharion, the lava waves are easily dodged with the boost. Unholy Aura while not the best thing to get in a build has it's uses.

    I take unholy aura to raids I don't argue its good there, im saying for heroics (which this guide is based on) its a so-so tallent.

    Even if everything you claim to have done is true, I think you need to review some of the beliefs about talents that are so engraved into your mind. Waving qualifications in peoples' face does not give yourself validity. Values of talents change, and sometimes merely the way people think and do things can modify their value. I've already stated my disagreements with you, and I'm sure you disagree with them just as much, but keep an open mind and continuously reevaluate your thinking. Stagnation of the mind is your worst enemy.

    That said, you really don't need to get belligerent here. I could easily get into a 25 man guild and get full T7.5 with a BoHum, because hell, moderately good Death Knights are in short supply on my server. However, I do 10 man raids (with the occasional 25 man pug on the side) with a guild of real-life friends, and boy, do some of them suck. Some don't know what a hit cap is or what expertise does. Does that mean I should come out and throw f-bombs and curse them out? Of course not! They're real people too, and sitting behind a screen does not change that. Some people forget that this is a game. It's perfectly fine to point out unwise gear/talent/rotation selections, but what is not is flaming them because they are a "noob".
