Maybe this is a repost, but I didn't find it anyway.
This is a basic guide explaining how you can get a LOT of money for about 2-3 hours of work.
The idea:
So the whole point of this guide is to make money of faction exclusive cooking recipes. There a quite a lot of (low level) recipes that are horde/alliance only, and these is what we are after.
Why would people care about those low lvl craprecipes you wonder?
There are a few obtainable cookingachievements in the game, and "chef de cuisine" is the hardest one. It requires you to obtain 160 different cookingrecipes.
Chef de Cuisine - Achievement - World of Warcraft
Now a lot of people, more then you would assume at first tbh, are really trying hard to get this done, and these are the people we will make our money off.
Next, you need to make a difference between bought cooking recipes and questreward cooking recipes. I know that those non-soulbound questreward recipes are even pricier on the AH, they also involve a lot of work if you don't have a character in that faction yet.
Last remark; beneath this text you will find the locations for the rare low lvl cooking recipe vendors for horde and alliance. The moneymaking works in 2 ways:
- get the horde/alliance recipes as a horde/alliance and sell on neutral AH
- get the horde/alliance recipes as a alliance/horde and sell them on your own AH
While the last one is the most profitable it is the hardest: you need to have 2 accounts, and it should be possible to create a horde and alliance on the same server (easier on PvE then PvP)
Enough Chitchat, lets get into the moneymaking!
Not yet. Still need to sort something out.
If you plan on making money by buying your own faction recipes and sell on neutral AH, this is no problem. You probably have a high lvl and a mount so gogo.
But what if you want to buy the other factions stuf with a second account?
For the Horde
- Make a Orc character
- Run to zeppelins outside orgrimmar
- Take the zeppelin to Grom'Gol basecamp
- Tricky part: run to bootybay
You will have a hard time doing this with all the mobs, and you should die about 15-20 times. Good thing is you dont need to care about durability or res sickness
There are 2 graveyards that will help you: one at the arena and one at BB. Try to get close to them, die and ress and those graveyards so you cut off a piece of running. Try to always stay on the road.
It is doable, done it yesterday, just takes some time.
- get to the neutral AH
- put a piece of meat (one of those you get when you create a char) at AH for 100G
- buy out with Alliance char (you need 2 accounts for this, can't buy from yourself)
- wait an hour
- while you wait make new characters and do some running:
* orc -> run to the first village with a mailbox (between startarea and orgrimmar) Razor Hill
* Blood elf -> run to the first village with a mailbox (the one in the corner, next to the gate to leave to Silvermoon, Falconwing Square
* Undeath -> run to the first village with a mailbox, the one north of Undercity, Brill
- Get onto your Booty Bay char and divide your gold amongst your characters. The Orc should get the most, he will need it. Send only a few gold to the undead and BE, all the rest to the orc
- get onto your Undead. Search for Abigail Shiel (left to of the inn when facing it) and buy [Recipe: Crispy Bat Wing], and send it all to your BB char.
- get onto your bloodelf. Search for Landraelanis (upstairs in the in , when you go up the stairs to the left) and buy [Recipe: Lynx Steak] and send it all to your BB char.
- Still on your BE char, after your done buying and sending, run through the gate, and run to the north. If you stay to the left of the dead scar on the road you shouldn't die. Run to the Ghostlands and look for Master Chef Mouldier and buy [Recipe: Bat Bites] and send it all to your BB char.
- log onto your Orc char standing in Razor Hill, this is the hardest, longest and most boring part. look for Grimtak and from him buy [Recipe: Scorpid Surprise] and ofc send all to your BB char
- Run to Crossroads. Stay on the road and chance of dieing is minimal (1 or 2 times). Once there, look for Tari'qa and from him you can buy 2 recipes: [Recipe: Crispy Lizard Tail] and Strider Stew - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
The strider stew is actually available for Alliance, but only as a questreward, so few people have it. Mail all o BB char
- Run to mulgore. This is a really hard part since you will die a million times. Don't give up and keep going till you arrive in Bloodhoof Village and search for Wunna Darkmane who stands in a big tent. From her, you can buy [Recipe: Roasted Kodo Meat] so gogo buy and send to BB char
- Run back to the barrens and continue your way to Dustwallow marsh. The lizzards will make you die about 30 times, but after this long and boring task we will arrive at Brackenwall village (tip: die as soon as you see you are in the dustwallow marsh zone, you will be able to spirit res just outside the town), look for Ogg'marr and buy [Recipe: Heavy Crocolisk Stew]. These are the most expensive(20 silver), and for some reason the best selling recipes.
- Install auctioneer and bulkmail, both available at curse, or at the bottom of this guide
- Log into your Alliance char, click the AH guy, click options (auctioneer) and click easybuyout.
Configure easybuyout max to be 1 copper bid, 1 copper buyout. This is not needed but comes in handy
- With your alliance char, if you have the money for it, put 4 big bags at AH at 1 copper bid/BO, buy em off with your horde char. Again, optional but handy
- Equip the bags, click take all (if you have bulkmail)
- Start putting all the recipes on, with auctioneer just click "post", click 1 copper bid/BO and type 80x1 (if you have 80 or whatever quantity you bought) and press post
- Alt tab to your 2nd account and start buying them off, just open AH, click price so auctions get displayed cheapest first, and go shift click em all (easybuyout in auctioneer ensures fast Buying)
For the Alliance
in all honesty, I never did this on a low level alliance before, so I have no clue how you could get around the place to get all the recipes. I can give you locations and what to buy though
* [Recipe: Clam Chowder] sold by Kriggon Talsone & Heldan Galesong
* [Recipe: Fillet of Frenzy] sold by Laird
* [Recipe: Loch Frenzy Delight] sold by Khara Deepwater
Maybe there are more non questreward recipes, but these are the only ones I know off
Now, this seems like a lot of work, and it is, but it is worth the time spent. I sell all these recipes at 20-50G each depending on wich one it is, and the first time I did this I bought about 800 recipes alltogether (approx 100/kind)
