How to be a raiding moonkin

Hello. The idea for this guide came from reading one on how to not suck as a fury warrior. The information provided in the next bullet points, and sentences as well as the spec are what i use and based of my experiences.

    Back-round information
My main is a level 80 druid in a raiding guild who has cleared all current content. I normally average between 2.4k-3k dps depending on the fight. I have moderate gear, some blues, and mostly epics and most of my gear is enchanted and socketed.

    How much hit is enough?
In my opinion about 350 hit rating is the prefered number.
This is because you will not need to keep Improved Faeria Fire up, and wont hurt your dps.
I have tested having IFF up and having it not up and i have found that not casting it doesn't make a big impact if u are over 13% base hit without talents.

    Spell Power
I have about 1863 sp in moonkin and do fine. You cant have to much sp but dont gimp yourself in other stats, remember a good dpser can sustain the dps.

    2h vs 1h and offhand
I like 1hands and a offhand i prefer raw spell power and a bit of hit over stats. But that is just me see what you like best dependent on your play style.

    Damage meters
Recount is a good dps meter to get to monitor your progress just dont be a jerk and gloat when you are being uber leet and pwning noobs by posting it in party or raid.

    Crit rating V.S Haste
"Haste increases damage done, but also mana spent quite severly.
Crit increases damage done, and chance of gaining mana. And also since Nature's Grace - Spell - World of Warcraft has no internal CD, critting much will also increase your haste.
Basically, crit is better, up to a certain level of crit, since it scales exponentially, the more critrating you have, the more you need for another point of crit. However, I do not know wich point that is."

    Leather v.s Cloth
Most people hate it when moonkins roll on and use cloth gear.
LISTEN! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH CLOTH!
Depending on what you need stat wise armor the proficiency shouldn't matter.
Most likely if you are getting hit in a raid by a boss you will die anyway, and we get 400% armor increase in moonkin.

    Flask, and Food
Flask of the Wyrm is the best dps flask and as far as food goes i dont know

    Dps cycle and spec
My cycle is moonfire, ISS, starfire wrathx3, starfire, repeat rebuffing debuffs as needed. A good spec is Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

    Glyphs
I use the insect swarm glyph, starfire glyph and the moonfire one.

Also as Kadenftw mentioned in his strat for warriors know the fight. Watch it on youtube and read it on tankspot just know it. You'll live, do better and have a higher damage output.

Thanks Kadenftw for the idea to make this post

Not a bad guide, basically what you can find on the WoW forums, but thanks for posting it.

I disagree on the haste vs crit part. Since nowadays you get mana back from critting in moonkin form, crit has begun to scale much better as moonkin.

Haste increases damage done, but also mana spent quite severly.

However, I do not know wich point that is.
Welcome to the internet, where thoughts turn to facts.

Lol, 3k? I do 4 - 4.5k on fights, YOU NEED TO BE HIT CAPPED, dont use iff dont use glyph of iss, dont crit stack, haste stack til your wrath conflicts with GC, crit is just a bonus. Burn through your mana and use mana pots. Get glyph of inervate and use it on yourself when you need to and if you dont, throw it to a healer

Ps... Clearing t7 content is easier than kara at 70

I have about 30% crit rating raid buffed and 300 haste and never lose mana on long fights ( it never drops below 70% on boss fights ), u NEED much more haste, to get your wrath close to 1sec cast ( since you can't have less then 1sec due to GCD ). Haste is must have since most important crit rating you'll get from 4 set bonus ( 5% to wrath and starfire, that is 230 critical strike rating ). Faster casting is not mana burn since if you have big crit rating = more crits.

i've never played a boomkin but this makes sence, from my experince from playing a mage, this would be the best for a balanace druid aswell since crit generally raises the dps more then haste.
