Here's what you do:

1. Set up a group with someone that is offline. (IE invite another account's char and log them off or use actual people you know who are willing to stay grouped.) Set the looting to Master Looter.
2. Find the Time-lost Proto Drake flying around in Storm Peaks. This requires quite a bit of patience.
Note: You can do step 1 and 2 in any order.
3. Tag the Time-lost Proto Drake, but don't kill it.
4. Advertise in general that you are selling his loot to someone for >insert your price here< (10k+ is advised).
5. Invite whoever says they'll buy first.
6. Have them pay you first, then kill, master loot to them, enjoy.

Rofl you talk like it is a common drop or something.. this mount is extremely rares and would require your friend to devote MANY hours to this scheme. Where in if you spent time doing something more obtainable, in that time, would make the same, or even more amount of gold than presented from an offer.

I suppose this could be a viable way of getting money if you farmed in the Storm Peaks for Crystalized...Air? That way you wouldn't lose gold just waiting for it to show up.

Native good judgment? Do you see where I'm going with this? This is a great tip for anyone that don't want the mount, and would prefer the 10k gold. It would be common sense at most if Blizzard had pointed out that you could do this. Clever use of game mechanic.
