its because thats ur internal IP address u need ur external such as like 201.56.234.91 or sumfink

Ok so I am having a problem. I make the server, everything goes well, nothing happens. I run ventrilo_srv.exe and thats fine. I go to my ventrilo and type in 127.0.0.1 for my ip address, and it works, but when i type in my external IP address, the one found on whatismyip.com, it doesnt work. the message in the box says ?MSG: Contacting Server, and it never changes from that. I forwarded the port and it still doesnt work. Everything is correct. I just want to know if there is anything that might keep ventrilo from contacting my server.

Hi everyone!

I have uploaded both the Linux(Debian) and Windows 2.1 versions to Filefront, as requested. I will also post my guide on how to install the 2.1 server in a Linux server enviroment in a few days. I would also like to encourage you all to change "VoiceFormat=0" to either 1 or 2 for better sound quality, though it will take more of your precious upload.


I will provide a virus scan if requested.
