Raise Lockpicking Without Chests

Disclaimer: This is kind of common sense to rogues who have run the instance, however, I figured I'd share since not everyone knows about it.

In Dalaran, there's an instance called the Violet Hold. It requires either a) a key, or b) a rogue with (i'm assuming here...) over 375 lockpicking.

As a rogue you can lockpick this door similar to the doors in SM and raise your lockpicking skill quick and easy. From my couple tries, it seems you can pick it for skill-ups every 5-10 minutes. But it's a quick cheap point for some easy skill ups.

I went back to zanga and picked the chests there they where all green but went up 15lvls in 10min

The Wicker Chests in Zangarmarsh are awesome for skilling lockpicking up on - I went through 300-350 so fast I was astounded.

This is a good tip, you can just do this every time you pop into Dalaran and something. + Rep

I just use a pick-pocket macro:

So as im leveling up I have always had enough junk boxes to keep my LP maxed. I even got a nice blue gem out of a lock box!

Use auto mouse-clicker on the door?

You can use it, but with the way the door only gives skill ups every 5-10 minutes it'd be kind of obvious if anyone is standing there waiting for a group and your there for 2 hours. O.o

Btw, the violet hold door can be picked at 370 (and possibly lower, but at 370 its orange on my rogue)

Yeah, I would like to see if it's available at lower levels if anyone has any proof of it being lower then 370.

I used to use the pickpocket > cheapshot macro, however, I do not like having autoloot on all the time and haven't been able to figure out a new command to turn autoloot on for the pickpocket and back off again after.

But anyway, I usually just pickpocket before I attack anything anyways and you get more than enough junkboxes to lvl your lockpicking.
