Just installing the client won't work you will need to patch it as the version on the dvd won't have the latest patches that have been recently released.

WOTLK is already applied on all servers, all it takes is a restart with a variable 1 instead of 0 to get it active with the zeppelins etc to northrend.

Agree we already have the patch they released it early to work the bugs out for release all the have to do is enable the features which will be done via a rolling restart imo but i wouldn't rush to be the first on the server at release cos they gonna be very unstable Tbh eu servers right now are hell right now with major lag spikes althou i aint tryed since the rollings this morning due to being at work.

i think it will be exactly like the tbc opening: no patch, no restart...
all you have to do will be upgrading your account in the new upgrade-website, which will be accessable at 0.00 on wednesday....

I think servers won't be down. Just like with Burning Crusade, everyone thought that the servers will be down and laggy as hell but they were not .

i think u can play - same like bc opening.
just enter cd key and play.
i play whit this client normal bc... i see dk icon but it is grey and i cant klick it.
after installation he make a 600 mb patch and a 50 mb patch... i dont want make this on release day
for the guy whit trouble at download : just load jdownloader (google it). then open the dlc file whit jdownloader...thats it!
