    Weaponsmithing vs. Armorsmithing

    Weaponsmithing vs. Armorsmithing

This is just to generally smooth out the differences between weaponsmithing and armoursmithing, so people can make an educated choice on which one they want.

    Contents

    1. Weaponsmithing
    1. i. Axesmithing
    1. ii. Swordsmithing
    1. iii. Hammersmithing
    2. Armorsmithing
    2. i. Advanced Armorsmithing Manuals / Enchanted Thorium

    1. Weaponsmithing

Weaponsmithing is, what most count as, the money making blacksmithing. It's to make swords, axes, maces and daggers for the general amount of people.

To become a weaponsmith you will need:-

    -56 Mithril Bars (9g24s)
    -2 Black Pearls (1g)
    -8 Shadowgems (80s)
    -4 Solid Grinding Stones (75s40c)
    -4 Thick Leather (26s28c)
    -22 Heavy Leather (1g32s)
    -4 Citrine (1g80s48c)
    -56 Iron Bars (8g68s)
    -16 Strong Flux (3g20s)
    -16 Heavy Grinding Stone (3g20s)
    -16 Gold Bars (6g36s)
    -32 Steel Bars (8g)
    -12 Lesser Moonstone (4g16s04c)*

Total Cost If Bought From AH:- 48g78s20c

*All prices taken from the Allakhazam average price, and prices may vary on your server.

Which can be easily bought off your AH, or farmed from around the area.

You have to ask a person nearby the weaponsmithing trainer in order to be directed to him. This will allow you to pick up the quest to start your armoursmithing training.

The weaponsmithing specific items you can make are:-

    Black Amnesty
    Blackfury
    Blight
    Dark Iron Pulverizer
    Dark Iron Sunderer
    Phantom Blade
    Truesilver Champion
    The Shatterer
    Heartseeker

    1. i. Axesmithing

Axesmithing is a further speciality into weaponsmithing, and it's for the craft of axes - like Dawn's Edge. To become an Axesmith you must complete a, fairly simple, quest. You have to go to Kilram in Everlook in Winterspring and get the quest Snakestone of the Shadow Huntress. Then you have to kill Shadow Hunter Vosh'gajin in Lower Blackrock Spire. This has to be done in a group, not a raid. Completing the quest nabs you the plans for Dawn's Edge.

Becoming an axesmith allows you to make:-

    Annihilator
    Dark Iron Destroyer
    Dawn's Edge
    Nightfall

    1. ii. Swordsmithing

Swordsmithing is a further speciality into weaponsmithing, and it's for the craft of swords - like Sageblade. To become a Swordsmith you must go to Seril Scourgebane in Everlook in Winterspring and get the quest Corruption. You must kill the Black Guard Swordsmith in Stratholme, this will also get you the plans for Blazing Rapier.

Becoming a swordsmith will allow you to craft:-

    Blazing Rapier
    Sageblade
    Dark Iron Reaver

    1. iii. Hammersmithing

Hammersmithing is a further speciality into weaponsmithing, and it's for the craft of maces - like the Hammer of the Titans. To become a Hammersmith you must go to Lilith the Lithe in Everlook in Winterspring and get the quest Sweet Serenity. You must then kill the Crimson Hammersmith in , doing this will also get you the plans for Enchanted Battlehammer.

Becoming a hammersmith will allow you smith:-

    Enchanted Battlehammer
    Hammer of the Titans
    Persuader

    2. Armorsmithing

Armorsmithing is, what most count as, the blacksmithing speciality designed for personal use, although it can make alot of money of end game armorsmithing specific resistance armour. You have to complete a long series of quests that require a huge amount of materials, and will ultimately be worthwhile. I believed weaponsmiths can also complete this quest series, as you don't become an armorsmith until you've actually gave in the ingredients to the artisan armorsmith.

    The quests are:-

    Art of the Armorsmith (Alliance)
    Art of the Armorsmith (Horde)
    The Origins of Smithing (Alliance)
    The Old Ways (Horde)
    Smelt On, Smelt Off (Both)
The Art Of The Imbue (Both)
    The Great Silver Deceiver (Both)
    Expert Blacksmith! (Both)
    Galvan's Finest Pupil (Both)
The World At Your Feet (Both)
A Good Head On Your Shoulders (Both)
    The Mithril Kid (Both)
    Did You Lose This? (Both)

This quest series will reward you with a nice trinket, Glimmering Mithril Insignia, and the armorsmith speciality.

To do the Mithril Order (not counting The Origins of Smithing, or the Old Ways) quest series you will need:-

    -358 Mithril Bars (59g7s)
    -40 Iron Bars (6g13s20c)
    -4 Citrine (1g80s48c)
    -26 Truesilver (10g40s)
    -36 Solid Grinding Stones (6g78s60c)
    -18 Mageweave Cloth (1g57s50c)
    -22 Thick Leather (1g45s20c)
    -3 Aquamarine (2g26s38c)
    -4 Black Pearls (2g)
    -1 Heart of Fire (2g)*

Total Cost If Bought From AH:- 93g48s36c

*All prices taken from Allakhazam and prices vary from server to server.

    Armorsmiths can make:-

    Dark Iron Bracers
    Dark Iron Gauntlets
    Dark Iron Helm
    Dark Iron Leggings
    Dark Iron Boots
    Dark Iron Plate
    Enchanted Thorium Breastplate
    Enchanted Thorium Helm
    Enchanted Thorium Leggings
    Fiery Chain Girdle
    Fiery Chain Shoulders
    Fiery Plate Gauntlets
    Helm of the Great Chief
    Invulnerable Mail
    Lionheart Helm
    Storm Gauntlets
    Stronghold Gauntlets
    Whitesoul Helm
    Wildthorn Mail

    2. i. Advanced Armorsmithing Manuals / Enchanted Thorium

Enchanted Thorium Breastplate, Helm and Leggings are made by putting together two pieces of a manual and then taking it to a specific trainer to learn how to make the item.

    Enchanted Thorium Breastplate

It's the first armorsmithing book. And you need to take it to the library in Dire Maul North. You need to combine the Top Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume I and the Bottom Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume I.

    Enchanted Thorium Leggings

It's the second armorsmithing book. And you need to take it to the library in Dire Maul North. You need to combine the Top Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume II and the Bottom Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume II.

    Enchanted Thorium Helm

It's the third armorsmithing book. And you need to take it to the library in Dire Maul North. You need to combine the Top Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume III and the Bottom Half of Advanced Armorsmithing: Volume III.
