This is one of the classics, lol. I remember doing it three years ago. Now people just tell you to go do it yourself.

The revised version of this is to join a guild and go somewhere to grind on your alt. Then have a guildie buy it for you and tell them to meet up with you and give it to you so you can pay them for it as you are about to jump in an instance and don't want to miss the item. As soon as its sold, have them meet up with you and ask for the item, and say you were short and will grind out the last bit of gold and give it to them.
