Easy gold with Netherwing

okay, first time for a line which most of you have probably seen thousands of times...

Well, here it goes... ahem:

*ive been a leacher for far too long, because i couldnt find anything useful to post, so here is my attempt, please dont flame*.

Phew, now thats THAT is out of place, lets get down to business.


When the netherwing faction was first introduced, while i was farming for it (it took me less than a week to get my mount, i was THAT eager), i discovered a really, REALLY great way of making gold, WHILE getting rep... now that i am exalted i still use this trick when i see my gold running low. I didnt share this with anyone, in fear of people starting to exploit this like me, but its been quite some time, so oh well.

If you already know about this, please dont flame or post stuff like *ffs noob i know that*... im just trying to get something useful posted. You dont like it - then stop reading and go check out something else. Your choice.

I searched guides section for many pages and havent seen anything like this... i MIGHT have missed it, so if i did, just link me the other post.



Anyways, here is what you need:

-An epic mount (yes, sorry)
-A netherwing chain in SMV done (all parts except one can be soloed)
-Mining or Herbalism

And thats it.

first, about epic mount - i know many of you are farming gold for the very reason of getting it... im sorry, but you do need epic mount skill in order to do this. You can borrow some gold from guild, as it will be very fast farming, and you can repay in no time.

Next, about the quest chain. It starts from a high elf, walking near the scryer camp in Netherwing fields. you have to feed the dragons. Keep doing this chain until you get quest named "Karynaku" - it will need 5 people to complete. Once you are done, you will get some sweet rewards and... thats it. BUT if you have epic flying skill, there will be another quest from this questgiver once you have done the chain. It will require you to give Netherwing Oath (basically just talk to the same dude), and next part will ask you to fly to the Netherwing quest hub. While you can continue to do quests to get netherwing rep, thats not needed for the gold (although doing dailies is good), so ill skip that and get to the point.

Point is, there are 2 types of *extra* resources available to you now that you are on this part of quest chain. You will also notice that you are friendly with the Dragonmaw orcs in the citadel and on the islands, which will make your job much easier.
Anyway, back to the resources

Netherdust Pollen - a herb, and Nethercite Ore - an ore. These can be found on the island to the south-east and in the citadel. You can ONLY collect them once you are on the part of quest chain you currently are on. They are needed for the dailies - collect me 40 pollen or 40 ore. BUT you can keep collecting them even after you turn in the daily... they sell for a nifty sum of (if i recall right) about 6g per stack, and they respawn VERY fast, and there are LOTS of them in these areas.... but thats not the point.

Point 1: they can sometimes have Netherwing Eggs in them, which are also used for rep. You can use them yourself, or you can use them to get extra cash. The egg is BoP so it might be a bit of a hassle - depends on time and server i guess. Basically, when you find an egg, do /yell I found an egg, selling location for XX gold. I usually sell these for 20-50 gold, depending on luck... or cant sell

Point 2, main point: These have EXTRAORDINARY drop rates for rare things:

Herbs drop lots of: mote of mana, mote of life, fel lotus.
Ore drops lots of: Eternium ore, green and blue gems, fire and earth motes.

and when i say lots, i mean lots. shitloads. It takes me just a few hours to get all my 18 slot bags filled up with ore and gems when i farm this. There are also lots of spawn nodes for Adamantite, Rich adamantite, khorium, mana thistle, netherbloom, etc - you name it. So just keep flying around collecting EVERY node you find, and you will see how your cash keeps growing right on your eyes. Just do 1-2 full circles of the island, checking all "inside" roads, then do a circle of the citadel, then back to island. Dragonmaw have vendors in their camp, which allows you to easily sell unneeded junk. It also makes for a VERY easy rep with netherwing due to eggs.

so what did you search for? cause searching this website for something simple like "nethercite" would save all this typing time.

anyways, the nodes did have a lot of blue gems for a while, but not today, its been nerfed. and gathering primal mana from the herbs is just nuts, you can get mana 20X faster from other places.

NONE OF THESE THINGS HAVE ANY SPECIAL "EXTRA HIGH" drop-rate for anything. except the quest items for netherwing rep.

well they have same droprates as other nodes, but they spawn in MUCH higher quantities and MUCH faster, which, actually, makes it same as if they had better droprates. And i dont know when it was nerfed, because i just had a farming spree yesterday and didnt notice any difference. Guess you were just unlucky.
