Today i read a thread on how to get free badge items and free honor gear. so i had to test it myself.
With my good counting skill (/stopwatch) i got 1 free crimson spinel and i got another for 15 badges.

Im just simplifieing it and confirming on Crimson Spinel.

Start stopwatch and get used to it and set it to 15 seconds COUNTDOWN
At the fifteen second restart mark start it up and also have you purchase item window open.
When ur stopwatch says 1 second Buy ur W/e you want free.
Server restarts.
Wait it out by LoLing At FAIL Blog: Pictures and Videos of Owned, Pwnd and Fail Moments!
When server restarts are over Sign in and if you timed it correctly free items FTW!!!

TRYEd buy s2 wand for my mage used deadly boss mods exactly right time when it said 0.3sec till restart i pressed buy and that i was able see how did it moved for my bag when i next morning logged my mage i didn't have wand and my honors and honor badges hasn't gone .

it has to be on the 1 second not any earlyer or later because of some lag issues i have only missed my item 1 time and that was the day my router died =(

I can confirm this one actually. You've actually got a bit more room than that - 3-5 seconds before the server restarts. Server is in the process of saving all of it's info. It saves your inventory very early.

Just lazy blizzard.
