    Keybinding Guide

Okay, I'm pretty sure it hasn't been posted before so I decided to make a guide about keybindings.
The purpose of this thread is in no way to tell you which keybindings you shall use, but I hope it will give you some good idea's

First of all, to those of you who doesn't know what a keybinding is:

A keybinding is a button on your keyboard to perform a spell or an action, for example if you press "1", you perform a fireball.

    Why use keybindings?

You should use keybindings because better and faster control of your character, this should improve both your pvp and pve stats.

Okay, so basically there is 2 different moving binds, there is the most used "WASD" and you have the less used "ESDF". I will mostly be using the "WASD" version in my examples.

You will be using "Tab" to target enemies, and when you fight always hold the right mouse button so the "A" and "D" keys is strafe instead of turn. Some people tend to bind them to strafe, but I don't think you should that.

I recommend you use the "WASD" setup, since when using the other one Tab and Shift is harder to reach and that will be crucial while pvp'ing.

To begin with, you would want to bind the attacks you use the most on the button's that's easiest to use.

The buttons that I would consider are the easiest ones to use is: "Q", "E", "R", "F", "T", "G", "§", "V" and "123456". You can use these binds and add Shift, Alt or Ctrl to them, but I wouldn't recommend you used Alt since you will be using Tab alot.
You can also use the function keys (F1, F2, F3 and so on).

Okay, this is the setup I prefer and it's a pretty decent one. I'm not saying you should use this, but it's worth a try, look if it's something for you. If it doesn't feel right, try something new, but you should keep to the bindings I've listed above :P
I would recommend you put your most used attack "4", on "1" and "5" you should put 2 other of your often used attacks. For "2" and "3" I advise you to put something that gives you some time afterwards since they are kinda placed a little off, "6" is pretty much anything you want it to be. On "§" and "V" I'd suggest you put some passive abilities, personally I like "§" for bandage. You should set "Q" and "G" to a defensive ability. "F" should be a passive ability, which you you use a lot (Like stealth, fear or polymorph for example). Then "E", "R" and "T" should be some offensive attacks. Then, pretty much the same thing with shift and all these binds. The mouse buttons ([COLOR="Sienna"]34 and 5) is also very good for binds, but I wouldn't suggest having any attacks there (Though Spells like blizzard, flamestrike, distract, engineering bombs and other things where you must chose targeted are pretty decent for them).
A great tip is to bind something on Next/Previous action bar, this allows you to have 2 action bars on the first bar. (Middle mouse button for example )

(I'm sorry if this got messed up, but there was so much to write.)

Edit: I added two binds I forgot to have in it

Last this is just my binds and I am in no way trying to make you use them, this is just an idea on which binds to use and what to use the for.
Test different setups and find something that feels comfortable for YOU.

Please send feedback, if there's anything I should improve. And please give +rep if you liked it I'm trying to become a non-leecher :P

I think this is useful and well written + rep

I'm used to bind the ability I use on both myself and enemies (Dispel magic for me) on a mouse thumb button with this macro: /cast [target=mouseover, exists] Dispel Magic

the other mouse thumb button cycles targets.

And the ability with an AoE template (Mass Dispel for me) to center mouse button.

I actually enjoy clicking my enemies rather than pressing tab, if I can see them that is.

Also, a combination of using the bound keys with some clicking could actually be faster if you ask me.

I mean, rather than having to think about whether ctrl-f or shift-f was activating my trinket I'd like to just click a little button that's like 0.1s away from my mouse cursor.

Anyway, well written guide and as he said, find something that's comfortable for you.

    +1!

    Just a consideration...

I really like people who use comments to improve the original post.

It's a demonstration of maturity and 'sense of community'. This encourages other quality comments to be added.
