Nothing too major, deffo not a "get rich quick" thing, but just some things I do on my server. Mostly variations of "buy low, sell high" - and common knowledge to some, but meant to point people at some things which they may have left out.
I may keep updating this post as I come up with/remember new stuff.
1. Nether Vortexes. I find them sometimes on the AH for 180 - 250 gold. There are also people advertising them in /trade for 210 - 220g. They usually sell for 280 - 350 gold. I usually snatch any vortex I find below 250g and sell them over time. Did this first time about 3 weeks ago when I found 10 vortexes for 150g each on the AH. Since then, I buy all below 250. I usually sell 2-4/day and I'm doing this every day. Easy 100 - 400g/day.
2. Super Mana Potions and flasks - with a twist.
I noticed that at about 16 - 17 ST (server time) the AH is full of mana pots priced between 9 and 15g/stack. The stock goes down slowly at most of the time there are _NO_ pots left on AH at about 18 - 19 ST.
This is when I make my move - post 5 stacks of pots at 13g each and announce in /trade something like "AH restocked on Super Mana Potions - get em before raid starts". They start selling almost as fast as I can post more. That's just my target: the late buyers, people just home from work, with a raid starting soon who forgot to stock on time.
Amazingly enough, I usually manage to sell 20 stacks within that timeframe (until my own raid starts).
This works similarly with flasks.
3. To take advantage of market gluts/dry periods I constantly scan the AH for Dreaming Glory, Felweed, Fel Lotus and other herbs used in flasks. I have fixed prices at which I buy/bid on everything.
This keeps me in a hefty stack of herbs and keep the prices of herbs up. These 2 things help me profit from selling the herbs when prices go up and also helps maintain profit margins on point 2 above (flasks & pots).
4. _PVE servers only_*
Playing the AH of both sides is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
You need a decent knowledge of the usual prices on both sides. Then you need to find an item which has a sensible difference in price.
Next thing - buy all of that item (leaving the most pricey ones) and move them to the other side and make a killing.
Moving the stuff may be difficult (and most certainly risky) and requires 2 accounts. See my other thread ( http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...tml#post946144 ) for tips on how to do it.
One of my biggest hits was buying about 100 Fel Lotus on Alliance side for 28 - 30 gold each and dumping them on the Horde AH for 45 - 50g within 24 hours. That's an easy 2K+ gold.
*It is doable on a PVP server as well, as long as you have a friend with chars on the other side, willing to trust you with his account.
