Basic WoW Gold Making Guide (Leatherworking and Mining)

Ok So I Really Wanted To Get Rid Of My Leecher Status So I Decided To Make A Basic WoW Guide On How To Make Some Extra Gold.

Okay now that that is out of the way here we go.

1.First of all Especially at High Levels LOOT EVERYTHING MOBS DROP!

2.Only Buy Things You REALLY need: Especially While Leveling Your Armor Upgrades Very Fast Generally Dont waste your money on Blues or Epics or even Overpriced Greens. You will just turn into a Money Pit.

3. Only Enchant And Gem Valuable Gear: If you waste your money on Gems and Enchants on gear that will be replaced in 2 weeks you wont have a consistent flow of money it will all be flushed away.

4. Your Guild is a big help to you Many of your guildmates will Probably Do profession work for you at low cost or free where as others will over charge you.

5. Create an AH Mule So you Dont waste Time Running Around.

6. Get 2 GATHERING Proffesions As soon as you can. Skinning and mining work best for making money while leveling. Leather and Ore sell super fast. Thick and rugged leather and Mithril and Thorium ore sell Very fast THey are great money makers. The reason for a Gathering Proffesion is because Crafting Proffesions cost money to buy mats While Gathering is free and only makes money.

7.Gather All The Cloth That Drops Great For Tailoring and First Aid.

8.If you want you could level your Fishing a little and go farm Deviate Fish outside of the wailing Caverns Ent. in the Barrens They sell for alot.

Skinning

Because Skinning Doesnt Use A Specialized Mini Map Tracker You can use it Nicely With Another Gathering Proffesion that Does like Mining or Herbalism. Cobra Scales and Wind Scales are Very Valuable And CAn only be obtained VIA Skinning. Also Knothide leather is very Expensive which means Good to Sell and you can make a fortune of that stuff.

Tips For Finding A Good Skinning Spot

Find a Spot where someone is farming They usually leave behind Tons of Dead animal carcasses that you can clean up after them. This works really well if you have a hunter bot Around that is mass killing. Some of them have skinning as well but its so easy to grab the body before the bot does.

Find a spot where no one is farming some of the mobs that you can skin also drop Motes Gold or Cooking mats. Not to mention Random World drops. Also vendoring the stuff they drop is another good way to make money. Remember all that silver Builds up into gold!

Farm the right type of leather. Contrary to popular belief the the right leather isnt always the Hard to find High leveled leather. Most people are power levelers so they jump right into outland at 58. But what is it that they leave behind that LW need? Rugged leathers. Not available in outland people miss out on this because of the jump into outland. Therefore it will usually depending on server inflation sell for quite a bit.

What drops Rugged Leather?

The Yetis In Winterspring are probably the best place to farm for Rugged Leather. They are easy to kill and you can pull them in groups for AoE at higher levels. Another good place for farming rugged leather is in Un Goro crater jsu the mobs there are spread all over rather than concentrated in one general area.

What drops Knothide leather and Clefthoof leather?

Knothide leather can pretty much be farmed from any mob in outlands. The best place to farm knothide leathers are in Nagrand the mobs are easier to kill thus you get Knothides faster. The drop rate is also very high and the mobs are spread out everywhere. Talbuks Drop it at a much higher Rate than Clefthoofs But Still kill Clefthoofs for there Clefthoof leather.

What drops Crystal Infused leather?

Crystal infused leather is basically used for LW leveling, for a Fire Resistant set at level 70 and for a Mail DPS set. Usually the demand isnt very high but if you get them at the right moment Someone could buy out all your stacks in the AH. The best place to farm these leathers is in Terrokar Forest at the Basilisks. The drop rate is around 10% so its pretty low. But still they are the most accesible mobs you can kill for this Leather. They Spawn alongside the river in Terrokar in the Northeastern part of the map.

High Level Skinning And Rare Leathers

Some Leathers are very sought out because of there low drop rate and are used to craft all sorts of patterns and the mobs are not accesible. For people who dont raid and are trying to Improve gear these leathers are A blessing.

Cobra Scales

Cobra scales are one of the rare leathers they only drop in one camp in Shadowmoon Valley and one camp in Nagrand. From one Specific type of mob that is surrounded by toe-to-toe high level mobs. If you are a rogue Give yourself a pat on the back. You chose the right class for
farming this. By stealthing you can avoid about 90% of the mobs out there and go for the ONE that actually drops this. Depending on what server your on you can make as much as 25g for ONE of the babies. But dont expect to get more than 3-5 per hour while farming these.

In Nagrand they spawn in Twilight Ride which is on the NorthWestern Part of the map. And in Shadowmoon Valley they Spawn in Coilskar Point and Just to the Right of the Altar of Shatar.

Wind Scales

Wind Scales are need for Epic craftables such as Random BoE world drop Recipes and Black temple recipes, also some recipes from Sunwell Plateau. You can skin them either in Shadowmoon Valley from Eclipsion Dragonhawks or in Blades Edge Mountains From Scalewings.

Nether Dragonscales

Nether Dragonscales are farmed in Blades Edge Mountains and Netherstorm and can be skinned from Netherdrakes. If you are friendly or above with Netherwing you cant kill these guys... Unless you declare war on the faction and then kill them. (Note) Your reputation will NOT drop if you declare war and kill them. The Dragonscales are used for Epic and Blue craftables like Armor Sets, LW Bags, Ammo Pouches and Drums.

End Tips For Leatherworking:

Remember: Always check the AH before going on a skinning hunt. Is there any type of leather that is not on the AH right now? Is it Over Priced and you can Profit by undercutting by about 5%? Cobra Scales are needed in Stacks of 2 For most Craftables So instead of selling them in stacks of 20 Sell them in stacks of 2-4.

Mining

Mining has always been almost the MOST profitable proffesion in WoW. Almost every proffesion is dependant on mining in sme way. Jewel Crafters Need the Ore and Jewels that can be extracted VIA Prospecting. LW Still In Some recipes need Ores and Bars. BS well obviously. Outland Deposites not only drop ores but also Motes of Fire, Earth, Solid stone, Gems.

Tips For Finding Ores,Veins,etc..

Ores Usually ALWAYS spawn around the edges of a map alongside the surrounding mountains. Also before going on a mining run do a /who of the are to see what your competition is like. And Remember during the afternoons there will be TONS of people swarming the zone so if you can wait untill Early in the morning or late at night to farm.

What should I do with the ores I find?

Well Mining has become very versatile these days so you could take it several different routes. Depending on what the economy currently needs you could Sell the ores for Others to level up there skill, Smelt them into bars so people dont have to go hunt the ore and smelt it, or Prospect them for Gems For Jewel Crafters.

Low Level Ore

If you want to farm low level ores then Un Goro crater and Burning Steppes are a great place to farm Mithril and Thorium. However if you have a jewel Crafting friend you should prospect them rather than sell the ore or Smelt them. Level 50-60 gems sell amazingly fast.

Outlands Ore

Outlands is where the real money making in mining comes out. Hellfire peninsula is where you will start out As A Miner. Mining Fel Iron ore Isnt the most profitable but its where you will start out. The best way to make money with fel iron ore is to collect motes of fire and smelt the ore. Then have a Jewel Crafting Friend Use those mats to Turn them into rings. Then get the rings dis-enchanted and sell the Dis-enchanting mats.

Admantite Ore

This is the real gold baker in Outlands. The best Places for Admantite ore are in Nagrand, Terrokar and, Netherstorm. Shadowmoon Valley also has alot of Admantite and Fel Iron Deposites. But only go there if your willing to clear a bunch of mobs away from each node. With Admantite ore the BEST way to make profit off of it is to prospect it rather than smelt it or sell its ore. By prospecting admantite ore you will make ATLEAST 50 G profit for every few stacks you prospect. And thats if you sell UNCUT gems that you get from them. If you have the possibility to Sell Cut gems you can make 5-20 G each one.
