    [Rogue] Mutilate Rogue PvE/PvP Guide/Cycles

    Mutilate Rogues, very uncommon spicies.
By making this guide, i hope i wil see more Mutilate Rogues appear, both PvE and PvP

    *WARNING*
I wont speak anything shitty/terrible about the specs/class, just facts that everyone knows / should know.

    +'s of Mutilate:
    -High Numbers

-Getting to use combo-spells you've never used

    -High Combo-point generation

    -Pwnd moments (1-2shotting someone)

-Stabble and [ALMOST] aggro free DPS

    -Supportive in raids

-Good for both PvE/PvP, you wont have to swap specs every hour for raids and PvP

-3Min CD Instant Crit whenever you want to, you'll use cold blood a lot

    -'s of Mutilate:

-Almost always out of Energy (Frustrating/Stressfull sometimes)

-Have to buy loads and loads of poisons to keep the DPS up (its not the price, its the time it takes to make them) and keeping them restacked. some find this anoying and some dont care.

-Requires some good gear to actualy deal over 3k damage/2crits

    -Very low amount of survivability

    -Sucks against high geared plate

-Must-have Stunlock addon (most rogues already have it)

    Specs:
    41/20/0
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

This spec is a bit more oriented to PvE, but can also be used in Deadly Poison honor farming (not realy good in arena's) you'll be using Envenom when you have this spec, due the +20% damage and it ignores armor on the enemy due poison damage.

    41/0/20
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

This spec is a bit more oriented to PvP, it sucks for solo'ing mobs but it rules at the plain PvP stuff. You wont be using Envenom, cause in PvP you use Wound Poison on your mainhand and Crippling poison on your Offhand. this is what most high ranked/tier rogues preffer, and i preffer it myself to.

    Cycle:

In PvE you'll mostly find yourself using
    Garote - Muti - Rupture - Muti - Slice n Dice - Muti - Muti - Rupture

    In PvP i myself use

    Cheapshot - Shiv (to get a crippling poison on) - Gouge - Kidneyshot(5P) - Muti - Muti - Gouge - Kidneyshot

Will add a vid soon of my rogue in karazhan doing this cycle and showing rogues can do good damage in raids

If you want to be supportive, you could also instead of rupture put on Expose Armor to help out the raid

    Top 10 Usefull Macro's
[Credits goes to ]Rogue-Rogue » Blog Archive » TOP 10 ROGUE MACROS

Start Autoattack Automatically Before Casting Special

    /startattack
    /cast Hemorrhage(Rank 4)

Great for those times when you recently just switched targets and currently don’t have enough energy to perform a Hemo, Mutilate, Backstab etc. Instead of just standing there during those 2-3 seconds, this will automatically turn on your autoattack without toggle-ing it on and off, so you can hopefully get 1 or 2 poison procs in the meantime - as well as the white damage with no downside. Simply replace your Hemo (or whatever main special you use) with this macro.

    Super Preparation

    #show preparation
    /cast shadowstep
    /cast sprint
    /cast [nostealth] Evasion
    /cast Preparation

The macro that blows all of your unused cooldowns before you Prep. There is no disadvantage to this since once you Prep these cooldowns are lost anyways, so why not use them? Don’t worry about Evasion either since it won’t cast unless you are out of stealth. However, be careful not to hit this twice, as you will blow your second set of cooldowns. I was a bit leery of this macro at first, but then realized I didn’t mash my Prep button anyways, and it really comes in handy if you’re in a hurry to get to that second Sprint/Vanish etc.

    Improved Vanish

    #show Vanish
    /stopattack
    /cast vanish

This macro will simply turn off your auto attack before you Vanish. Accidentally autoattacking yourself out of stealth is just as much the culprit of a broken Vanish as your enemy hitting you themselves. Besides, we all know how "perfectly" Vanish works, so it can take all the help it can get. After using this, I saw a noticeable improvement on Vanish’s reliability.

    Sap Nearest Stealth Target

    #show sap
    /cleartarget
    /targetenemy
    /cast sap

Spamming this macro will automatically target the nearest enemy, and bring priority to the target that is in Stealth. This really helps when trying to sap a target and a Rogue is nearby, prioritizing the Rogue during that split second decision, and greatly lowering your chances of being Sapped first. If there isn’t a Stealth target it will still Sap your current target like normal.

    Premed Cheap Shot / Garrote

    #show premeditation
    /stopattack
    /cast Premeditation
    /cast Cheap Shot

    ————————————

    #show premeditation
    /cast Premeditation
    /cast Garrote

My personal favorite of any macro. It will cast Premeditation every time the cooldown is up before you open with a Cheap Shot/Garrote. It eliminates the hassle of manually casting Premed before you open and frees up another bind that you can use for something else. As a note, these are two separate macros, one for Cheap Shot and one for Garrote.

    Cold Blood Mutilate

    /cast Cold Blood
    /cast Mutilate(Rank 4)

For this macro, we suggest binding this to your Cold Blood when using a Mutilate build. If you are behind the target in melee range at the time of using it, it will Mutilate instantly and will reduce the situation where your target gets away after Cold Blood is activated, causing you to waste the free crit on a Shiv or other ability. For those of you that are unaware, Cold Blood will make both attacks crit which is why we recommend using it with Mutilate. If your target is out of melee range or you are not behind them, it will simply activate your Cold Blood like normal.

    Deadly Throw Macro

    /cast Deadly Throw
    /cast Throw

This macro will use Deadly Throw anytime you have combo points. If none are available, it will use your Throw ability instead. Great macro for freeing up another bind.

    Weapon Swap Macro

    /equipslot 17 Merciless Gladiator’s Shiv

Equips a weapon to your Offhand. Replace the name of the weapon with the one you wish to equip. We use this macro for each of our offhands that we will be switching out in arena games - where we toggle our offhands between Crippling Poison and Mind Numbing poison for quick Shivs on the target. While there are macros that simply toggle between the two, we have yet to find one that is as reliable as making one different keybind for each weapon.

    Mouseover Blind

    /cast [target=mouseover] Blind
    /focus [target=mouseover]
    /stopmacro [target=focus, noharm]
/p %f has been blinded. DO NOT TOUCH!

This macro allows you to Blind any target within range by simply hovering your mouse cursor over them and hitting the macro, thus avoiding switching targets and losing valuable time in Arena. It has an added macro line that indicates who has been Blinded in party chat, but you can choose to remove this if you’d like.

    Mashable Stealth

    /cast [stance:0] Stealth

While Rogues became a lot less reliant on this macro after the addition of Secure Ability Toggle in the interface menu, this will allow you to spam your Stealth button without worrying that you will click it too many times and bring yourself out of Stealth.

    RACE SPECIFIC MACROS

There are 2 other macros we feel are worth mentioning, but since they are only available to two races we didnt include them in the top 10. They are:

Cast Shadowmeld if Stealth is on CD (Night Elf)

    /cast Stealth()
    /script CastShapeshiftForm(1);
    /script if not(string.find(GetShapeshiftFormInfo(1), "Invis" )) then CastSpellByName("Shadowmeld(Racial)"); end

Kick / Arcane Torrent (Blood Elf)

    #showtooltip
    /castsequence reset=10 Kick, Arcane Torrent

This macro will cast Kick or Arcane Torrent when Kick is on cooldown. It will reset every 10 seconds to prevent using Arcane Torrent unless it’s absolutely necessary.

With me it would, it takes quite a time for the Cooldown to go off (20seconds) but it also takes quite a time to toss up a mutilate
