While this may be common sence, we all must agree - there is a great lack of it
    here at some times.

    Required:
    A decent memory
Somewhere to write your password, like WoW.

    How to:
    Imagine your password is MMOwned21
If you type it right in, a keylogger would get it without problems.

    But,
    write Owned
then, using your mouse, select the point before the * which is the O,
and type MM. Then, in the end, write in 21.

That way, a simple keylogger would have problems, because normaly they
don't register where the mouse clicks.

    Ups and downs:
+ Helps you keep your password safe, without the use of launchers that do this automaticly, and which may get cracked and ... your password is catched.
+ You don't have to be afraid of simple keyloggers to catch your epiced 70 character.
+ You don't have to wait for a virus scan to be completed before you can feel safe.

    - Takes a bit of time.
    - An advanced keylogger wouldn't have much problems to spoof this.

    With other words,
this is a simple trick to use when you are the one who don't do virus scans
often, and don't keep your software up to date, but still would like to know
that your password is safe to a certain degree.

The best way to prove a point is to argue it with faulty arguements.

or you can just do start>all programs>Accessories>Accessibility>On screen keyboard.

Tested it with the keylogger I used to use, and the most recent, doesn't pick it up =D

Some keyloggers record it, as onscreen keyboard simulates the keyboard presses.

Just a point of interest. WoW passwords are supposed to have a number at the end, so if you want to do a better job fooling people, use two numbers in your password (ex. MMOwned21) and just move one of them. So the keylogged will see something like 1MMOwned2, which is a valid password, so when they try it and it's incorrect, they may assume you've changed your password since then, and just move on.

True, that would also be a good idea.

Imo, we should all use a random password, like
    as8g7sd5h4jdf5
all the time if possible, using a method like this, and virus scanning often.
That way, it would be almost impossible to find out the real password,
because if a human would sit down and look at how the password was typed
in, which was in this example
    OwnedMMO21
    (or something like that)
it would be easy to guess the true combination...
    If they would bother to.
FOR A MOMENT, NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN, AFTER A SECOND OR SO, NOTHING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN.

Being nice goes a long way.
Just because someone has low post count doesn't mean they can't contribute.
And being embarrassed doesn't make it right to be rude.

What? Not banned just never allowed to login, ever again...

On the subject of keyloggers, etc.... do any of them record what is copied and pasted on your clipboard? For example if you had your password saved in an inconspicuous text document, and then you copy and paste it into the password field, to avoid having to actually type it. This is also good for credit card information, etc. just in case you're worried about the possibility of having a keylogger or something similar.

Yes, you don't even need a keylogger for something to track what is on your copy and paste clipboard. I would suggest don't copy and paste your password.
