    AIO AV Afk guide

Yay for first contributing post. I am the author of this post (Brisingr15), and I have posted it twice on other forums. One on hack-thenet.com (was shut down) and covertcodes (deleted because it pissed too many people off because afking was "bad") Well this is my post on how to afk with the least amount of chance of missing a gm pm, or getting flagged as afk. So lets get started!

    Tools of the trade
You want a few things before you go into the battleground so you can afk without missing GM whispers, and a few other things.

    1: WoW Instant Messenger (WiM)
    Main Page - WIM
2: A spare WoW account (optional, will explain later)
3: Autohotkey or Keyclone (optional again with the spare WoW account)
4: Timer, I recommend Online Stopwatch
5: ability to react quickly to situations

    Alright lets get started!

    AFKing Spots:
I'm tempted to list a bunch of spots, but sadly there are so many, it isn't even worth saying all of them. There is one thing to say though. Don't afk in the cave, and if you are afking near your base, make it look like your defending. If ever questioned why you are there, have a cover story. Say "I'm just outside their Field of View, so I can watch them, and hit just at the right time." And on that note, if you are supposedly defending a flag, stay far enough away so that you can be out of sight of your faction, but close enough to make that claim.

    AFKing Tips:
While you only have to jump before you go afk, I recommend tabbing in about every 30 seconds, so if you get tagged as afk, you can react quickly. Also, because you have WiM (you did download it right? 0_-), you will see any tells easily, and be able to reply quickly.

If you get tagged as afk, quickly mount up, rush to the front, and hit someone once, or heal someone. This should only take a minute or two at most. Once you die, you may want to stay at the healer, so people think you are being rezzed.

Whatever you do, do NOT draw attention to yourself by being a total dick in BG chat. For example saying "LOL kill faster so I can get my free honour lol!" or the "I love afking here =]" it just draws attention to you, then you may be reported and not just tagged for afk.

If you are a healer, you may want to go to any of your local ponds, and start drowning yourself (In game) Then spam your fastest heal (max rank) on yourself, as you take damage. I am 2nd in the healing meters currently (I am afking while typing this ) with 100k healing, and I've only done this twice. It only takes about a min, and when people ask what you are doing, tell them to shut up, you're healing your ass off. (Credits for this coming as soon as I can search <.<)

For DPS, attack some wolves, and if someone asks what you've been doing, say you're trying a new weapon, and act like you have no clue that you don't get weapon skill ups in pvp.

If you are a mage, and you get tagged as afk, you can try iceblocking out of it. I read on here that it works, although if it doesn't, just rush forward.

    How to deal with problems
If you get contacted by a gm, what happened with me was they asked if I could move around for them a bit. They were checking if I was botting. If you begin to talk to one, do not admit anything, and keep it a calm casual conversation. If you let on that you are freaked, or that you were afking, they will start setting it up, because they know you knew it was wrong, and that you did it. If you do what I do and buff the healing meters a TON, then you can say you've been healing the entire time, and that you just went afk for a bit, because of IRL stuff, and was keeping ingame just to finish out the match. Never act like you are not innocent, and ALWAYS defend that you didn't do anything wrong. A good story you thought of before hand, just in case. If bitched out by a player, report for harassment =], although they may say you were afking, just tell the GM you were defending or something similar, never say you were afking.

If you keep getting tagged with AFK by some bastard in the battleground, I recommend using this macro to leave without getting deserter debuff.

    /logout
    /in 20 /script LeaveBattlefield()

    Remember these three things:
    1. Fly under the radar, and try not to attract attention
    2. Never admit to afking, always defend yourself.
    3. React quickly, and always be ready for everything.

If you liked this, please +rep, I need to stop being a leech D:

    AFK with Spare Account Dual-Boxing

    AFKing with spare account

why do you need a spare account? For dual boxing of course! Want to level an alt? Scan the auction house? sell stuff? Afk with ANOTHER toon? Well you only need two things for this.
    1: A spare WoW account.
2: Autohotkey or Keyclone. I recommend Keyclone for dual boxing, Autohotkey for afking, check the dual boxing forums (google dual boxing) for tutorials on how to set it up.
    http://rapidshare.com/files/97400474/SolidIce.KeyClone.v1.8e.WinALL.Cracked-BRD.rar

Now with Autohotkey set up, here is what you should do.

Run WoW, log in with your afk character, and set up the video setting to windowed mode, without maximized, and resize to rather small. Load up another WoW client (just click WoW.exe again, and do the same video setting, just resize it to be most of your screen. (screenshot coming soon.)

Then run autohotkey, and play your alt. Whenever you hit spacebar, both characters should jump up. So all you have to do is check your afk char for tells once and a while, and just reposition him every game, to easily afk while still playing.

    Happy afking!

ill never understand the point of these DAILY "afk spot / guide" posts.

I just have one observation about your particular apporach:

    3. React quickly, and always be ready for everything.

and... every 30 sec, you recommend to tab in and see whats going on. On top of first getting to your spot, and also going thru some process of doing damage or healing. In an AV that these days often end in under 15 min.

do you think... that maybe... if someone is doing ALL THAT, and then every 30 sec also rechecking, they dont need a guide. what they are doing is the opposite of AFK, hell they are probably more active than half the people that are actually trying to play.

well I mean alt tab in, jump, alt tab out. If anything is weird you should spot it quickly. As for react quickly, if you see something is wrong, then you can go "Oh ****" and then fix it with minimum loss of honor. You don't have to fight or anything, just be ready to be tagged afk, or pmed by a gm. As for the healing thing, you don't need too, but it makes it look a little better for you.
