Free name change when SCAMMED

First of all.. I can't post this under scam because it's not a method on how to scam.. and cant post it under exploit either cuz its not an exploit. Hopefully this is the right section for this.

Ok. So i have an extra WoW account that i wanted to sell with 2 lvl 70s in it...
1 is a druid and 1 is a rogue fairly epic'd out pvp gear.. and posted it in Markeedragon.
One of the buyer contacted me and he said he's interested in buying my rogue only..
his offer is fair, not too high(scammer-like) and not too low. He said he will prove the cd keys and stuff and will pay extra for xfer charge.
We talked on vent.. his english was good (checked).. he lives in US (checked)..paypal verified(checked).. he's not chinese(checked).
Also he has his own security checklist too.
..One of his demand was to log in to my account to see if i really have this rogue and if i really own this account.
..He said itll be like a quick 5 sec look... after that i can kick him out.
..He keeps telling me has lots of positive rep in Markeedragon(which is true i checked) and he wouldnt do anything to ruin is Markeedragon rep.
..For some reason he talked me out of it.. and we agreed (i know im an idiot).
..I was just saying to myself.. WTH its only gon be a 5sec look and i can retrieve my password using my SQA if he ever try to change it.
..I changed the password.. gave it to him.. it literally took 5 sec.. i kicked him out and changed the password again.
..At this time we've been on vent for like bout 2.5hrs now.. so i thot this guy is legit.
..So we're bout to trade..and while sending me $$ thru paypal.. he said he's really lagging bad, which he's been complaining thruough out our 3hr conversation.
..He asked me if i received the money but i didnt.. at this time its already like 4:30am.. we're both tired..
im tired.. and he said we'll trade first thing in the morning.. i agreed cuz im tired too. Woke up.. checked my email... and there it is...
... my rogue has been transferred....
and of course that guy is nowhere to be found.
..So I called blizzard right away.. telling them "i woke up this morning and got this email that one of my character was transferred.. i have no idea how this happened"
.. and they told me to file an "unauthorized character transfer" and i did.
..Got an email from blizzard telling me that thy have to investigate first and if they find out its really unauthorized character transfer they'll return my rogue to my current realm within 1-2 weeks.
I kinda gave up on that and i thot i'll never get it back.. so i started lvlng a mage with the same name with my rogue..
...after 3 days of lvlng my new mage.. i relogged and found that my rogue is back to my character list with a weird name..
..i pressed "enter world" to play him i got a message that i have to change the name.. so i did. There it is.. free character name lol..
..i checked my rogue's gear and banked honor and arena pts.. its all there.. nothing is missing.
I checked the bank.. i found that i have bunch of primals and shards in there like.. lots of them.. that i know he nvr had b4 the xfer....


I guess when i gave him the password.. he went straight to wow.com > manage account > and xfer my character right away... instead of going to my character list.


Oh well.. it only took 3 days.. got my name changed, which ive been wanting to do.. and also got some AH stuff to sell.


lol so the guide is:
If your an idiot like me who got scammed this way... make a lvl 1 char with the same name... and there it is free name change when u get ur char back


What i loss during this scam:
3 days of playing my rogue (i still have my druid to play with anyway) and about 1hr worth of phone bill/time on hold w/ blizzard account and billing support (which i dont mind.. i used my home phone.. meaning my parents pay for the bill.. if thers any. lol)


What the scammer lost during this scam:
$$of cd keys on both classic and tbc wow and $25 character xfer fee. That account is registered under my name(internet name.. not legal).. so after this scam.. its most likely permanently banned.

What i want to know is how this guy got into your email....a character transfer requires confirmation from the registered email address.
The guy cant do shit without access to your email.

He could never had xtransfered you character without having your secret answer.

to tell you the truth.. i still have no idea on how he did it... im just assuming that when i gave him access to my account (gave him username and password) he went straight to wow.com > manage account and xfer there... i dont think SQA is necessary for it.

When i woke up.. i received 2 emails from blizzard...

1 titled: "World of Warcraft -Paid Character Transfer PENDING"
and the 2nd one entitled: " World of Warcraft - 6/11/2008 Character Transfer Complete!"

i guess e-mail confirmation isnt necessary to complete the process...
