[Guide] Hearthglen - another daily source of gold!

After TBC hit the shelves, certain areas of Azeroth have become a lot less populated, among those areas is Hearthglen:



This place holds lots of opportunities to make gold of. I marked two places on the map, and will tell you about them both:

1.
There is 4 Rare Elite spawns, according to my experiences, you can get to kill them twice a day, if you time your killings.

Q: Why would i wanna kill them?
A: Because they will always drop a green level 50+ item, and by disenchanting this you will gain either Greater Eternal Essences, or Illusion Dusts, which sell very good as these mats are now used for twinking enchants.

Heres a map of the place, and where you can find these rares:


The location of Rare number 2 is unfortunately not completely on the picture, but the mob is right inside the tower (the towers is a little to the right of the (2) ).

Q:But I'm no enchanter, I shouldn't bother going there then?
A: The drops from the rares, are BOE, therefore you can just get someone else to disenchant them for you.

These mobs are a piece of cake to kill as a level 70.

Q: So thats all? Kill a few elites?
A: No, you might also choose to do some regular farming at this place. The normal mobs (Scarlet Workers etc.) Have a very nice chance of dropping blues and epics! So I tend to stay here and just aoe for a while every time I've killed the rares. You might wanna do the same.

To sum up the locations of the rares:
1. At that woodworking place, youll have to pull quite a few mobs with him.
2. In the tower, on the ground floor.
3. At the blacksmith.
4. In the town Hall - this rare seems to spawn less often.

And that's not all!
There's also a few Rich Thorium veins lying around at this place, usually around the mine / blacksmith.
As far as I know, Thorium still sells for a bit, so don't forget these!

Now, after (or before) you've had your killing spree at hearthglen, you could also visit location number 2. This tower has around 6 - 8 mobs named "Scarlet Spellbinder", and they have a nice droprate of the Enchanting recipe: Crusader, which still sells for ~200g !
In fact, I've killed 50 of those mobs now, and found 2x Crusader, which is lucky of course - but always possible!


Although this can be a very nice place to grind at, it can also suck - depending on how many actually go to this place. On my server, until today >.<, I have never seen anyone else here, maybe one time an odd quester, thus making this spot a very good one on my server.

I suggest being atleast lvl 65 before going there to grind the rares, theres also a level 61 elite patrolling the area.


So good luck with your (new) grinding area (if you like it), may you find lots of phat lewts there.

I knew about some rares en veins in there, but n1 posting a screen and all Also, there are 6 spellbinders INSIDE the tower, a possible one walking around the tower and a possible on on the path in front of the tower just to clearify

nicely done , sometimes thought whats in hearthglen but never thought of going there i think u can do the same with the place in Eastern plaguelands if im right

I was there with my mate last night (before i read this) and its really good because pre-BC this area and Tyrs hand used to be so crowded but now your pretty much garunteed to get the rares ( we got all 4 in 3 mins) and we got 3 crusader drops too + 2 rich thorium veins

I checked this out, and yes this is a very nice place to grind gold on. but bad for me there is like 20 others on my realm who know this

Yeah this place and Tyr's hand used to be full of chinese farmers, well now its all empty, so imma take advantage of that
