I've personally farmed these in EP for 8 hours a couple of days in a row. I only made like 1k gold off the primals. I did have a epic tailoring recipe drop for me off the fire eles once though.

There are defiantly better methods of farming than this, but if you're story is true, well imo you were lucky as hell.
