I have been a leecher for sometime, but i want to share my theory with you ppl.
This is theory so far (since i cant test it being at work) but ill test it with real values this evening and for sure edit this post to put values and compleate guide what lvls is best for boosting, what instances and grp setup.
Everyone who have some gold at theyr bags and bored to lvl up his small char twink/alt frome time to time ask friends for boost him or even pays some random ppl for quick exp run. As i read on Wowiki about game exp mechanics it looks pretty simple to count:
Example:
A duo of levels 35 and 34 kill a mob of level 30.
CL1 = 35
CL2 = 34
ML = 30
MXP = 128 (the solo XP as calculated for the level 35 char)
XP1 = 128 * 35 / 69 = 64.9275 (rounds up to 65)
XP2 = 128 * 34 / 69 = 63.0725 (rounds down to 63)
Example 2 (boosting)
CL1 = 15
CL2 = 70
lets assume mob gives 100xp (this doesnt matter because it will be scaled anyway with lvl and graph will still look the same, only with 100 you can count it as %)
So exp given from mob will be divided between lvl 15 and 70
XP = (exp of mob) * (lvl of char)/(summ lvl of all chars in grp)
XP1 = 100 * 15/(15+70) = 17,64
XP2 (leeched by lvl 70) = (same formula) = 82.35
Lets assume same formula for 5 man group and compare.
As for the assumption i took 2 groups
Group 1 (blue)
Me (lvl 15)
leecher1 (lvl 10)
leecher2 (lvl 10)
leecher3 (lvl 10)
Booster (lvl 40-70)
Group 2 (red)
Me (lvl 15)
Booster (lvl 40-70)
here you can see
X values = exp gained (%)
Y values = lvl of booster
Red line shows 2 man grp
Blue line shows 5 man grp
As you can see from graph if u using lvl 70 (for example your friend who just bored and want to help) find 4 more lowbies and it will be better benefit for you in a matter of exp.
If u using lvl 40 to boost your lvl 15 - way better to do it with him alone.
That looks fine and you seem to gave great deal buying cheap boost of some guy lvl 40 and getting like 10% more exp per run, but i started to think and if you recount time wasted on boost it will look abit different.
Assume that lvl 70 will be boosting 10% faster than lvl 65, lvl 65 will do it 10% faster than lvl 60, lvl 55 10% faster than lvl 50 etc
(pure theory - lvl 40 will do it almost 3 times slower than lvl 70)
then if you take time in calculation you will see this graph:
As you can see it looks "inverted"
this one show effectivness of exp/time depending of lvl of booster for same 2 grps.
If you take time on account lvl 70 5 man have best effectiveness than anything else.
That was my contribution. I made it for few purposes:
1st to show community im not lust lazy leecher.
2d to do something ppl might be intrested in.

If this looks interesting ill continue this research and add real values and arrange it.
