[Macro Guide] Hunter Buffs

This is a quick little guide explaining the buffed life as a Troll Hunter.

RAP - Ranged Attack Power
AOTH - Aspect of the Hawk
AOTC - Aspect of the Cheetah
AOTV - Aspect of the Viper
AOTM - Aspect of the Monkey

1. Aspects:

Hawk - RAP (155)
Viper - Mana Regen
Cheetah - Movement Speed (Don't need to worry about)
Monkey - Dodge (Not going over)

2. Increasing Damage Buffs:

AOTH - 155 RAP

Beastial Wrath (Beast Mastery) - 10% Additional Damage - [ .10 * (Unbuffed RAP + 278 RAP + 155 RAP) ]

Trinkets: Blood Lust Broach (Its what I use) - 278 RAP

Total =- [ .10 * (Unbuffed RAP + 278 RAP + 155 RAP) ] + (Unbuffed RAP + 278 RAP + 155 RAP)

So if you pop every one at the same time with unbuffed rap being 1500 you should have 193.3 extra rap with beastial wrath.

Grand Total of: 2126.3 RAP with 1500 Base RAP. Nearly 600 RAP Bonus

To conclude with just these buffs you jump ALOT of RAP and thats without the orc buff and having low RAP to begin with.

3. Speed Increasing Buffs:

Rapid Fire - 40% Increased AS

Berserking - 10% - 30% Increased AS

Improved Aspect of the Hawk - 15% Increased AS

Total: 65 - 85% Increased AS

ALOT OF SPEED!

Now adding that speed mulitplying with your RAP your pumping out alot of DPS!

4. Something to Consider

Now here we have something to consider do you have mana?
Without steady shot your losing a ton of DPS you get with buffs.

So instead of AOTH you might want AOTV.

5. The Macro

We have to worry about global cooldowns, I know a drag.

-Lets start with what doesnt have one.
Beastial Wrath, Berserking, Rapid Fire, and Trinkets.
-Now what does
AOTH (lol)

Okay here is the High Mana Macro explained out

Do not include "* *" items

#showtooltip Bestial Wrath *Gives the Tooltip*
/stopcasting *makes sure casting doesn't prevent any of the buffs*
/cast Bestial Wrath *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast Berserking(Racial) *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast Rapid Fire *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/use Bloodlust Brooch *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast !Aspect of the Hawk *Casts aspect of the hawk if its not on and make sure it's at the end or it will ruin the whole thing cuz of global cooldown*

That will pop everything a troll hunter can have increasing DPS by alot.

Now if low on mana you might want to try this

#showtooltip Bestial Wrath *Gives the Tooltip*
/stopcasting *makes sure casting doesn't prevent any of the buffs*
/use Mana Potion
/stopcasting
/cast Bestial Wrath *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast Berserking(Racial) *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast Rapid Fire *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/use Bloodlust Brooch *Pops this buff*
/stopcasting
/cast !Aspect of the Viper *and make sure it's at the end or it will ruin the whole thing cuz of global cooldown*

This will pop a mana potion and give you viper to have mana regen instead of the 155 RAP, I have never tested this one but in theory it should work.

So, I hope this helps you all out there!

Very nice mate, but i get more for being MM.. BeastMaster is only for leveling and pvp mate..

BM is the number one damage spec for raiding, mate. MM is arguably only good for PvP.

Barely any hunter have MM in end game raiding, and if he has, it's because he hasn't done his calcs properly in the last year or so. Depending on guild set up, Surv brings more dps to the raid than BM, but not personal dps. And it requires a very well geared hunter to be worth it.


As for the guide, well written, but nothing new.

:O! BM is the Pve spec and arena spec MM is the battle ground spec survival i use that for arenas and BG's

I still see such a huge debat about what is best for PVP BG's and Arena's. I wanted to start in on arenas but do not know which way to go. I am currently BM and it works for me as I tend to solo the daily stuff and grind our rep in BG's for the S1 Gear. What do you think? Did I post this in the wrong place?

I personally prefer BM because of 3 reasons:

1. No need for PvP trinket as a 18 second immunity to spell effects
2. You get a wicket stun
3. BM buff also gives 18 seconds of boosted dps

I even am using my raid spec for pvp and its killer.
