Basically you have to be a hunter and thats all, unless you suck and can't kite.

I also did this... But I was on a paladin, then a hunter, then a druid. The druid was only 59 when he did it.

I usually kill Drill with a 58 hunter: pull it with pet, call back the pet, run away to tower outside Hellfire (freezing trap, serpent sting, eventually a short attack with pet during run), enter in tower, attack with pet, feign death.
When the guards aggro Drill rise and shot with bow/gun.
Some green object, netherweave and coin are his loot.
