A lot of the times Blizzard will also ban or warn you for "exploiting the economy" if you choose the AH method, which is also totally unrelated to gold buying.

Blizzard tracks all of these sites, they don't shut them down though. They stop it at the source - which is us, the gold sellers and gold buyers.

I recently transferred my level 63 Death knight ( Your wondering why most likely, he had maxed out mining at 375 and blacksmithing at 305) But he was also broke.
