With the introduction of RealID and all the controversy about it there's been a few places/people saying that there's a flaw in the system that allows for a mouseover macro which will tell you peoples RealID (ie their real name) without having them on your friends list. A script was shown for whispering yourself and getting your real name, and people have said there's some addons that can give it away too. Is the mouseover macro possible though? Haven't seen it anywhere here, which I figured if it was out there, it'd be here.

No, these are 100% fake. The screenshots of people doing it are photoshopped. Yes, there is a script which will show YOUR realID name, but not other peoples who aren't on your realID friends list.

The photoshopped pictures, plus a script that shows your own name, has been enough for people to jump on the crazy train and assume that it is possible. It is NOT. Anyone who tells you that it is, is lying, or misinformed, no matter how "sure" they are.
