[Release] FastBaron Addon - Makes farming for Baron's mount faster!

Greetings!

While farming Baron's mount I was finding myself wasting more time looting and dumping crap out of my bags so I decided to write an addon to minimize the time it takes to loot.

The base foundation and inspiration for this addon came from "LootFast" by 42kbdnd.

What does this addon do you ask, well It's a filter based looting system that replaces the internal "auto-loot" functionality. It has predefined filters out of the box to pick up things like "Mageweave Cloth", "Rune Cloth" and ignores things like "Key to the City" and "Frayed Abomination Stitching".

To use the predefined filters, once you've installed the addon and are in game, type "/fb reset". It will populate the above list conditions for you.

The saved variables are per character so you can have different loot filters setup for all of your toons.

This addon will auto-ignore grey items and will only loot white items defined in it's internal per-character list. It will also auto-loot greens,blues,epics.

Another bonus is, when fighting the 3 mini bosses on the way to baron, it will automatically loot BoP items, greens and blues from the bosses thus saving you time from clicking accept on the dialog that appears with every BoP item that drops.

Since this addon is minimalist, it loots so fast you never see the loot window appear or the confirmation on the BoP items, it's instant.

So getting into how to actually use the addon.

The addon has 3 switches,

/fb
/fastbaron
/fastb

Issuing any of the switches above and "help" will display the addons internal configurable options for example "/fb help".

/fb tog will enable or disable the addon.

/fb close:# will set the time it takes to close the loot window, -1 will keep it open the entire time, 0 will prevent the loot window from being shown and 1 will keep it open for 1 second before auto-closing.

/fb name itemname:# is how you add a item to be looted to the internal list or ignore an item from being looted. For example, /fb name Rune Cloth:1 will auto-loot rune cloth where /fb name Rune Cloth:0 will prevent it from looting.

/fb reset will reset the internal list to defaults. The internal list will have the following items in it.

Key to the City - Ignore
Runecloth - Loot
Frayed Abomination Stitching - Ignore
Mageweave Cloth - Loot
Ichor of Undeath - Loot

You can add to and modify this list however you see fit, out of the box the list is blank, so make sure to set some filters before using this addon otherwise it will ignore ALL white items out of the box. The addon will however by default loot all greens, blues, epics, etc.

Additional Functionality:

After you kill Baron Rivendare, the amount of times you've killed him (since the achievement system) will display in your chatbox in the following format:

"You've killed Baron Rivendare x times."

It pulls the kill count from the Achievements -> Statistics window.

I also added in a feature that will notify you via raid warning and chat when Baron drops the Mount, Deathcharger's Reins, Runeblade of Baron Rivendare, or Teebu's Blazing Longsword.

The notification will be in the following format:

"!OMG! Nameofitem DROPPED, GRATS!"

This notification will populate before the addon loots from Baron so you'll be notified instantly when any of those 3 items drop from him.

Even though this addon is named "Fast Baron", it can be used anywhere. In instances or otherwise, just remember to disable the addon when you're in a raid or a party without a managed loot system or you'll swiftly be labeled as a ninja!

While WoW is closed, unzip the addon to your world of warcraft addons folder /interface/addons/

Anyhow I hope you all enjoy this addon, this should vastly reduce the amount of time you have to spend looting in Stratholme or any other instance you decide to farm.

Corey, I appreciate your feedback however,

After using Loot Filter, I found it to be rather slow when looting and have heard other people complain about the same thing. For what it provides, Loot Filter is bloated imo.

FastBaron will loot so fast the loot dialog is never shown. You literally click on a mob to loot it, and you see the items populate to your inventory via chat notification. This makes for very fast looting.

Also, in my personal experience using Loot filter, it does NOT auto-loot BoP items, it does NOT hide the confirmation dialog that appears from BoP items. Ex: "Looting [Name Of Item] will bind it to you. Are you sure you want to loot this item?"

FastBaron on the other hand will auto-loot BoP items and won't display the confirmation dialog thus saving you time having to click "Yes" on the confirmation dialog every time.

In closing, Fast Loot will provide the same filter based looting capabilities at a slower speed due to it's design, but lacks the above mentioned functionality which in Strath can mean saving a decent amount of time.

I made a bugfix to the addon, it was looting grey quality items due to an addition I made before release. This has now been corrected, please re-download the addon from the attachment above.

altho i already have my mount after 46 runs, this addon turns to be very usefull to maximize your proffit per run with other items.

cool, nice work! I will give this a shot on my druid in a few weeks when I hit 80. I like the all in one package just for the baron runs.
