How This Mod Works

YOU CANNONT RUN THIS MOD AND GEARSCORE TOGETHER
YOU MUST TURN GEARSCORE OFF FOR THIS TO WORK

This mod talks to other users of GearScore and GearScoreBreaker. Instead of sending an update
of your real gear score to everyone it sends the value of 6000. It will also send false values of everyone
you mouse over or inspect. This value is then updated in a users local database (this file is saved by
GearScore when you logout).

If you mouse over someone in GearScore it will always recalculate the true gear score of the player
(if you are within inspect range), however, if you are out of range GearScore will pull the value from
the database. If GearScore has received and updated the GearScore to 6000 and you are out of range,
then 6000 will be displayed for the players gear score.

It takes a little time for the false database values to send to everyone in your guild/group/raid, so it
won't work in the first second you turn it on. But, should within the hour. The more people that use it,
the faster databases will be filled with false values, and the better the mod will work.

Despite GearScore's author saying this is Malware this addon is nothing of the sort. This mod abides by
all Blizzard Eula's and ToC. Should Blizzard decide the this mod breaks the rules and contacts the authors
then it will be removed immediately upon their request.

Very nice addon, and I will be using this but Im just wondering if by only changing the values of '6000' in gearscorebreaker.lua will send out false readings as whatever number I changed it to.

From what I'm told, yes you can change the values to pump out whatever # you want. As long as you actually know what you're changing/fixing.


The guy that made this GearscoreBreaker would be happy if someone could figure out an even better way to make this work, so feel free to download the coding and give it a look and update it however you see fit.

It seems like whever you are close to someone else (inspect range) they will see the real gearscore number and have thier database updated to that
So unless you have a small army of people with this mod, it will not be very effective
