hello, i am a lvl 61 lock atm, and i was wondering what specc i should choose. im demon atm. its ok but thinking of going affalic.,.

please help!

I play a 70 lock and I use a demonology spec, Felguard just dominates imo.

It's really preference, I played a Destruction spec for a while and it was kinda fun, but I definitely like the overall survivability of Demonology.

I agree with Xepher on the PvP / PvE parts.

But really I don't think Demonology is all that bad for PvP either, having a free intercepting stun can be pretty nice.

Explain:
1) Very good specc, your suppression makes your dots hit every time, well almost, purely drain tank specc with a shadowburn for a finish spell. And nightfall procs f****** alot :>
2) Very powerfull specc, you can take away talents from imp and place into improved curse of agony but your imp will give you more +sta this way and will just spam firebolt. Ruin, well what to say about that talent? :> very very imba.
Tip: I would take 1) specc anyway i like to do unstable to enemy instant fear, can get you out of every situatuion, well not if you have dwarf priest vs you.

i have a 60 lock myself (has BC, just hit 60 a while ago) and i gotta say, when i re-spec'd from affl to demon, i loved it, im never going back until im 70 and have diff needs.

I would say go aff for lvling till 70, then go SM/RUIN.

Demo is fun for owning noobs...

But nothing else.

With my 68 lock i have a VERY shitty gear, and Im AFF.

1st thing:

Demo is just easy 2 kill in pvp bfore 70 cuz of banning non stop fear and felhunter 2 silence if u resist fear.

2nd:

UA ROCKS, its owns healers

3rd:

My aff dps just ROCKS, i have maybe a bit less survivability then demo, but still.

I had a 66 Demon Lock and if I would have changed I would have tried going afflicition. Destro never really looked that good to me. Too much fire and would have rather just played my mage.

Demo is the way to go for lvling.

These are the specs I usually rotate around:

(I add a point into Shadow Embrace because it will often confuse a healer in Arena when they dispell all the other dots along with it, and can accidently dispell UA. You can also raid with this spec.)

( I usually spec this to just have a lot of fun in BGs or whatnot, Destro to me is and always will be the most enjoyable spec to pvp with, but it lacks survivability in arenas)

( I started off with this spec for arenas until i got a good amount of resilliance and HP to respec Affliction.

(I use this time to time, its usually fun when you have the right gear for the Crit needed with Ruin.)

(With this what you would do is sacrifice a Succy to gain the +15% shadow damage, and with all the points in destro, your Shadow bolts will hit real hard. Lots of debate on whether to use SB or Incinerate, but overall, youl dish out more DPS with SB, Thing with this build is you need to know if your raid will be willing to lose BP for extra DPS.)

So as for leveling, Affliction is your best bet, not as much downtime, you just need to know how to level with it. dot,dot,dot, lifetap, drain life repeat.

depends on your situation. If you have a good guild that does raids more than anything else. Demon is probably best for ya. I had a good arena team guild and BG guild so i went Aff for a little while. Once i got all my gear, i went destro because it just pwns. Affliction if good too, it's preference. I don't like torturing a poor kid, just kill him >.>

But at 61 stay demon to get to 70, maybe even more to farm some gold or w/e. then try each spec <3
