does anyone knows if blizzard has anykind of access (download) to your addons in the interface folder?
for example if you run bot helper scripts (needed for pvp bots).

The Warden might be able to tell them...I'm not too sure though.

The addons are loaded into your memory, warden checks your memory when you play wow, so I'd say they are able to check it, I'm not an expert though.
Your addons and thier CRC Checksums are sent to the server before you login. Blizzard can also ban addons from being used.
In short: The warden does not scan your addons, but the client does
is the complete lua script sent to the server or only the CRC checksum?
but i really see no point in scanning addons before LOGIN, because i can change scripts ingame&reloadgui or load code throu SavedVariables.
i wonder if, for example, a GM has access to my current ACTIVE addons while playing?
The checksum is sent and the names of the addons (so call it My Actionbar addon or something), your saved variables are sent to the server.
I don't know if the gms can see your addons but they can't ban you just for using addons.
From what I know they can't see what addon are running. The server side addons system is just for banning unwanted addons. GMs won't ban your account because of addons.
If settings syncing is enabled in config.wtf SavedVariables are sent to the server, GMs can't see them either
I agree that the whole scanning addons before logon is stupid, but is certainly simpler to implement.
namelessgnome thanks for the infos ;-)
They scan your memory each time you login so I would say that they can see if your running code injectors/bots. Situational im guessing. Just becarful with what you do and use the bots responsibly.
I believe they CAN because. Ascent servers used to load a table of recently used addons.
Im sure Warden has found a way to see them. although there really arent any addons that i know of that really do anything bad.
WoWAini? pirox's addon, it makes the bot work xD doesall the memory reading I THINK, o one flame me if I am incorrect.
No, a LUA cannot has read memory.
Blizzard can indeed access your addons.
they can see ur addons. If u name the pvptool.exe the same way like the nessesary ingame addon, ur instant banned. kk![]()
