Ok so I tried to sell my account and I gave the guy all the info including a copy of my drivers license. However, he paid me through a stolen paypal and the money was returned.
Now we've been playing the back n forth game with emails/passwords. When I called blizzard they told me someone else had submitted a drivers license and got the account back. Well the license I gave him was expired and the one I submitted to blizzard was my new one. Dunno if that helps the situation at all, hopefully the expired part does. Well I got everything back and I changed the battle.net account's email and password. This account has 2 lvl 80's that I'd like to keep.
I have another account with burning crusade on it that I wouldn't mind upgrading and transferring the chars to if this is a definite solution.
What can I do? Blizzard is kind of retarded when I try to explain to them that someone else has the info to my account. They just say 'change the email' over and over.
Thanks ahead for your advice guys.

Well theres no way blizzard would give the account back if the drivers license was expired so hes getting it back some other way if you have control of it now set up a new email change the email to it on the account make a secure password and if you havent already done merge it to a battle.net account, may even be worth phoninh blizz and asking them to change your account name.
Nice! That's great news for me. I already setup a new email and changed the password and its merged to a new battle.net account. I've asked blizzard to change my account name they just tell me to change it on battle.net.
He may of logged into my gmail somehow since my password was the same as my wow account. I changed all that now.
Can anyone else verify that I should be ok? I don't want to put time into an account that I may lose.
Authenticator would help!
I have one, he got it removed off my account.
bump, anyone?
Blizzard will not accept an expired I.D as an acceptable I.D for recovery. If they made you a new battle-net account you should be fine.
they've been accepting the expired one over and over for the guy who keeps taking the account back. They're about to disable the account. I'm thinking I have one more try at getting it back.
In all honesty, your best bet is to get the account disabled. Call in to Blizzard and try to get them to lock the account so it has to be notarized. As an experienced scammer, this is the biggest bitch to get past.
What will happen if info keeps getting shot back and forth is:
1. Account will get "locked", "disabled", whatever.
2. You'll receive an e-mail requesting a notary.
3. Follow the instructions; basically get a notary from your local post office and send it in.
Not many scammers will dare plagarize that type of information...
It's your best bet to keep the account.
Hope this helps

I got account owned as well, although the scammer doesn't have my ID or the CD keys. Think I have a strong chance at getting my account back? Best of luck with your situation Leyth, Cheers.
