    WRONG. if you have a criminal record already and they charge you with a misdemeanor, you can serve up to 1 year in jail. also they can serve you a fine without you even going to court. its something like 150 USD + the price of everything youve stolen, you get banned from the store and returning is grounds to be charged with trespassing. guys i REALLY reccomend not doing this. i did this at a target near my house and got busted. criminal record till im 18 because of it. its SO not worth the money you save.
