I was scamming some guy using the TCG scam, and I was about to get the money when he said "you better not scam me cause I have your IP address"... so that got me wondering, is it possible that he got my IP address through only whispers? if so, how did he do it?

he is lieing...you can't get someones ip through WoW unless you talked with him on msn or something. Tell him that he just broke the internet privacy policy. and if he does have it report him to some agency lol

Don't listen to ANY threats you hear from somebody unless it's a GM. If you are scamming on a scammed account especially there is NOTHING to worry about.

Just laugh at him. If this was indeed possible, he would get spammed by IPs everyime he sees some character in WoW. Of course, it's not true
