Account scamming, is it really illegal?

Yes, I'm a bit paranoid.. a few victims are threating to call cops and stuff like that if they don't get the account back, is it really illegal and would the police care at all? And do blizzard give last logged in IP to someone that want to report? Also I've quit subscription and everything. Thankful for answers. REAL answers not anyone kidding or some 12 year old idiot commenting.

Btw, I live in sweden. Not expecting theres someone from sweden with enough knowledge about this though xD

I know that in the UK it is illegal to scam anyone, accept its something like.... if you give me your account details i wont give you something cool.

Don't worry. 99% in all cases they try to scare you so they get the account back.

I'm from Sweden and you don't have to worrie about them talking about the cops and their "gang" brothers. I've been scamming shit loads of those people and nothing have ever happend to me. Just like Neelz said they're trying to scare you enough to make you give back their account. Don't worrie they can't do anything and even if the did the Swedish police wouldn't give a poop about a scammed account.

NO. It is not illegal.

Reason being: World of Warcraft accounts are not theirs to sell. They are the ones breaking the rules by selling it to you. As a matter of fact, if you do pay them for an account, World of Warcraft encourages people to chargeback or reverse the payments given to people.

World of Warcraft WANTS people that sell accounts to get scammed, to prevent it from further happening.

That isn't the point. The police would not listen to the person trying to report your scamming actions, they are selling someone elses property, they, if anyone, would be the person in trouble.

Not illegal in US that I know of. Anyways if scam a person's account who is selling it, they can't do anything to you because they're breaking the rules in the first place. DO NOT let them scare you and don't keep in contact with a person who you scammed.

How could you be charged with stealing something from someone that did not own said "something" in the first place?

PS: Tons of people on this forum are Swedish. In fact, I'd say they're more in the majority, and not the minority.

Well guys i have a gmail with loads of account infos i think but im scared of hell logging into it that they shall ip log me if i login into it thats why i dont do it. So if someone want the password to it just PM me. Btw im from sweden so it would be funny if any swedish guy would whisper me
