This is a step by step of the scam I call, "Warm and Fuzzy Noob w/ Pics"

This is an Original Idea, and I searched using the string "payment scam." If this has been previously posted and for whatever reason did not come up when I searched, I apologize. I have used an amalgam of various threads for the purpose of utilizing previously adapted scamming concepts and credit for those posts go solely to the original author.



NOW, Lets begin!


The Post

Step 1: Post a GREAT account up for sale for a price much cheaper than it's worth, but $50.00 cheaper than you want to make from the deal. I will explain this later, as it is pivotal in the amount of profit you wish to make. Remember that it's all free gain, so you're not going to lose no matter how little you post it for. If they ask why you posted it so low, act noobish.

The Victim

Step 2: The results may not be immediate, but they will come. Some dumb schlub will eventually ask you about the account. So you begin the conversation by telling them a little about the toons on the account, how much you've invested, why you're asking the price you are, give him/her the armory...just warm them up. Make sure that you show some attachment to the account. That is pivotal. Act like you're almost contemplating not selling. Hook them on your emotions.


The Hook

Step 3: Once the gushy stuff is out of the way, either he, or you should recommend the trade starts. This is where you make a very generous gesture. If he is dumb enough to offer the money first, then so be it, jack him and skip down to the step about paypal. Most likely, no one is that dumb, so he might ask you to send everything first, or offer to use a middle man. DON'T do any of that. Sell them some more gush about what the account means to you and how you do't want to lose it. to a scammer. He'll insist he's not a scammer, but who are you to know? So, you tell him that the only way you'll sell it is piece by piece. Apologize to him for being so stubborn and act super noobish to trading. Now, considering the way you act about the trading, the account, and the low price you put...he will take the bait that you ARE a noob trader and be more likely to go for the next step. ACTING and people skills are everything in this.


The Reel

Step 4: Take whatever price you're selling the account for and divide it by five. Now, lets say that you're selling an EPIC T/4 Rogue for $250, you tell him that the easiest way is to charge him $50 per piece of info. This way you know he's not scamming you, and he'll know you're not scamming him. Tell him that you'll be more than happy to screenshot the account page and email from Blizzard after changing the emails. (but be 100% sure to change your ACCOUNT NAME on the screenshot when you use Kaizou. You don't want them having your real account name.) Step 4.1: To Kaizou a Fake Confirmation Email: Most people have more than one email account. If you have an old Yahoo or Hotmail, go into your character account on Wow.com and click to change the password. Change it to this other, older address, click confirm, and then go check the mail registered on the account. Open the confirmation from Blizzard, but don't click the link. Kaizou all of the info, so that it looks like you requested a change to their email. Now screenshot the fake email and the Kaizou'ed Account page.


The Teddy Bear

Step 5: The pics of the confirm email and the account page will give them the warm and fuzzy. And they should send their Fifty Bucks! Keep moving on with it, going in order: EMAIL CHANGE - ADDRESS - PHONE NUMBER - SQA - Finishing with the Account and Password. Now of course the Account and Password are fakes, as was everything else, so he's not going to send that last $50...that's why I said to set the price for $50 more than you actually wanted to make.
