The Copycat Scam:

Summary:
You are going to send a player(s) you selected a picture that is in the same format that Blizzard sends through e-mail. The picture states that the player(s) have been caught account trading, and that their accounts will be banned, or closed if they do not send you the details listed.


Steps:

1: Go to mail.com - the best personalized free web-based e-mail; sign up for a free email address. Make your Email Address something like [email protected]. They give you a list of emails you may choose from. Remember to include "Blizzard" in the email address to make it look remotely real.

2: Head on over to World of Warcraft Community Site and find your realms forums. Now look for a guild recruitment thread, and go to every guild forum you find, searching for email addresses.(try looking in profiles, if they have no email, try their MSN) Make a list of the email addresses you find.

3: Go back to mail.com - the best personalized free web-based e-mail and compose an email, put your first victims email address in and send them this picture:

Read the image over so you understand how it works.

4: Repeat step 3 with all of your victims.

5: ..now all you have to do is wait. Good luck!


Tips:
- I find every 3 emails or so you send you get 1 back in good time.
- If you don't get an email in the first day don't worry, sometimes it takes 15 minutes, but sometimes it takes up to a week.
- If you get an email saying something like "**** YOU SCAMMER"; don't worry. It happens.
- When you send emails from mail.com - the best personalized free web-based e-mail there's a little signature at the bottom but most people don't see that, or they think it's part of their email service. If you don't like that try using another email utility.

Remaining Safe: (for after you've got the accounts information)
- If you are sending gold/items from one character to another illegally; go in to your World of Warcraft folder, and delete the "Cache" folder. Blizzard can use that to see what you've been up to.
- Use this path to send gold/items to your main from the character you hacked:

 
Create a level one on your hacked account.
Send all the gold and/or items to the level one on the hacked account.
Create a level one on your account.
Send all the gold and/or items to the level one on your account.
Delete the level one on the hacked account.
Send all the gold to your main.
Delete the level one on your account.

- If you have two computers, only access the hacked account on one of them and access your account on the other. That way your guaranteed home free; it's not like Blizzard would ban you if you got a random 5000g from someone you didn't know.. right?

Be careful when doing this scam on mail.com. I used to do the one where you send an email to people selling/trading accounts on markeedragon and my email addresses would often get suspended, which basically means they delete the email address you were using to send the fake emails.
