with about a chance of 50% the trade window gets green for a very short time and then switches back to grey...anyone idea?

Well I failed at my first try, although afterwards the kid said "I work for blizz" then said I'm reporting him we got into a whole big story and bam in the end he gave me the item to make up for me not reporting him. lol

FYI, this is not bannable as long as you don't talk about the price to the seller. Just walk to the seller and open trade.

If you get reported, tell to Blizzard that you thought the price was 500 g instead of 5000 g. You offered 500 g and the seller accepted, so he can't accuse you of scamming. Blizzard has no methods to detect if the backspace scam was used.
