Private Server Donation Scam

Here's a pretty easy, new scam that I've been using. I've already scammed a number of 80s using this.

What it is, is you pretend to be an Admin on a private server and say that the server is accepting retail accounts as donations, which will be rewarded with GM powers.

So, here's how you do it:

First of all, you need this addon: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulat...chat-hack.html. The addon allows you to impersonate GM announcements and whispers in the chat box.

Now, you need to find a private server.
Find them here: World of Warcraft top 100 - Private servers, Guides, Guilds, free servers

Instant 80 servers are best, so if players /who you you don't appear as level 1. GMs would never be level 1.
Also, pick one that's relatively small. Definitely not in the top 25.

Now, get onto the server. First and foremost, make sure there are NO GMS ONLINE (make a ticket to check). If there are GMs frequently online, go to a different server.

Now go to the mall or main area.

Turn on fake announcement mode ( command is /cmadmin ) and say something along the lines of "For players who are interested, we are accepting retail accounts as donations in exchange for GM powers. Whisper me for more information." in trade or general chat.

Repeat this periodically, and then just wait for whispers.

When you get a whisper, turn on GM Whisper Impersonation mode (command is /cmwhisper) and reply to the whispers.

Now just get their account info from them, and say that their GM powers will be granted in a day or two.

Remember, they think you're a GM, and they think that if they give you their retail account, they will receive GM powers.

Just act well, and people will be rushing to give to give you their accounts

1) No one will ever give you a retail account for a private server one.
2) People who play on instant level 80 funservers are usually noob, you can't expect them to have good retail accounts. Serious players don't play on private servers, or at least they play on good and balanced ones.
3) What's the point to be a GM in an instant level 80 funserver with custom equip, thousands of gold, etc?

I've been trying to log onto private servers for some time..Just came back to wow...any ideas?

Poglia... You'd be surprised.

1) Yes actually, they will. I've already gotten a number of them. Private server players are often on private servers because they've either quit real WoW or are getting bored of real WoW.
2) If a server has 100-200ish people online, there's a good chance at least a few of them will have high level characters.
3) There is still a point. GMs can do just about anything. However, you do have a point, which is why you need to pick your target server carefully.

Damn, This is good and all, but the problem is that it leaves a HUGE blank spot on top which then ppl know its not real

and its fixed on alot of servers too =/ like wowscape

EDIT: I did the GM Impresonation, they still found out it was me some how. And Then I got banned from Eternion lol. So this doesnt really work, Is there a version that doesnt leave blank spots so its so obvious?

Well he did say not to do it while a GM was on because if you waited then you wouldn't have been banned. Besides there's ways around IP bans

But I dont care about a ban lol. It's just that it doesnt really work because after you type as an announcement, gm, whisper, It creates a whole page of blank space so they know that its not real.
