only problem is that if you do this, your char's name will be known as a scammer :/
The Introduction
I was selling epic shoulders today and after the customer was found we agreed that I will send the item as a COD. So I sent the item but ofc I forgot to actually send it as a COD but fortunately the customer was reliable and gave me the money afterwards
Anyway from this I got an idea for this small trick, here is step by step guide.
The Scam
1) Try to sell any item normaly in trade channel, epic if possible because you get highest money from it.
2) After you have found your victim, tell them that you will send it as a COD, be very polite and friendly! While you are arraging the trade, go to another zone, and stay there, close to the post box. Also, haggle until your victim is in a BG or another zone.
3) Now wait a while and after some minutes tell your victim that you posted it but stupidly forgot to send it as a COD, if the guy is reliable he will say something like "No problem, I will send the money to you afterwards" if it went like this continue to the next step"
4) HS or fly to Dalaran or any other crowded city (IF or Orgrimmar maybe?) and wait until your victim comes to that city too, if you are lucky he will be there under a hour. When you notice that he is in the same city, whisper to him and suggest that you trade the money now because you are in the same city and the item is on it's way
Now, if you have been very reliable and friendly he will propably agree to the suggestion and you can take your money If he doesn't wanna do the trade, just ignore him and hope he doesn't start to yell your name everywhere!
Some random tips:
-Be friendly and reliable!
-Try to trade Naxx BoE drops, they sell like WoW
-Try to haggle a bit and joke alot
-Sell the items underpriced, this will make them accept the money trade much more easily!
If your target starts screaming around you can..
A) Change your name
B) Use another high-level character
C) Transfer off the server
Great success can be gained from this if you have any social skills to act friendly!
Thanks!

So come, pull a sheet over my eyes. So I can sleep tonight - despite what I've seen today.
You can work it around by
A) Changing your name
B) Using different high-level character
or just create a char which's name sounds like a bankchar and delete this char in the end?
That way works too, but you are more reliable and get higher success rate if you use high-level character
Hmm i will try this sometimes.
this disnt really seem like a good scam, it seems to obvious that you are scamming the person. personally i woud only give the person selling me the item the gold when i had it in my inventory.
Got warning from gm for doing this shit back in the days better watch out
A) Change your name
B) Use another high-level character
C) Transfer off the server
A) Costs Money
B) First account gets banned, Use 2nd to get it banned also? If you just switch toons on the same account, thats meaningless; GMs will ban the account as a whole.
C) Refer to A
The idea is alright, but the method is far from foolproof. The idea of a scam is to make it so you either 1) wont get caught or 2) can't get caught. This can go wrong very easily.
Isn't this a copy/paste of a thread a while back (1 or 2 weeks)
Yes this is defo a repost i remember it, but anyways i cant see anyone that would fall for it and would defo end in a ban and you would loose the gold anyways.
lol repost?
As for this 'change your name' point:
Even if you change your name, it will still stay on Friends List and they can just see your new name (the only one on their list they don't 'know') and report you.
Even if you change your name, it is logged as your old name in transactions/mail on Blizzards logs. This is how they find you and will send a GM to warn you.
Sounds like you need the most luck in the world, #1 for them to say oh i will mail you gold, then for them to be in the same city, then for them to say yes..
Tcg ftw
