[Idea] Curse Client Phisher/Keylogger

So .. you have been able for years to upload whatever the hell you want to Curse.com - WoW Addons WAR Addons Gamer Blogs Forums and call it the new version of something EVERYONE downloads. ie: peggle, Carbonite, Grid.. and so forth.. and idiots will download it. However, over the years people have gotten a bit smarter, and paid attention to things like update change logs, and file size.. making it harder to get the average person to download said Keylogger/Account hacker.

Well not anymore..

Now .. dumbasses just log in, click 1 button, and download whatever the client tells them to .. shit .. it even installs it for them.

p.s. Wowinterface has one too. (But I think Wowinterface checks what gets uploaded .. Curse is a cesspool of corrupt files.)

1.) Download Peggle addon
2.) Add Keylogger to arcive
3.) Upload to Curse with new version number.
4.) Collect accounts.

If I knew how to make a keylogger I would be doing this already. But alas .. I am just an idea guy.

Works like a charm .. People have been doing it for the last 4 years, now it's just automated.

Trust me man .. Curse is the WORST at policing their content. Other sites would probably cause a problem .. but Curse is already notorious for bad files, keyloggers, viruses.

In fact I can almost guarantee that the new outbreak of hacked accounts is partly due to Wowinterface, and Curse trying to re capture their market from Wowmatrix.

Lets be honest.. do you download your files manually?... All of them? .. every single time? .. and open them up with a virus scanner? .. and verify their integrity? ..

and so what if you do .. There is people out there that WILL e-mail you their account info .. if you sweet talk them enough .. That means there are stupid people that will download without even so much as looking what it is Curse is telling them is out dated.

All in all.. I dunno if you saw the threads tag .. it says [Idea]. Just something for the folks here that can actually read to look into. and explore.

How do you expect for people to RUN the keylogger? There are NO .exe files in the addon folders to bind the keylogger to, so are you just going to put the keylogger in the folder and wait for some person to run the random .exe in there? Honestly.

It's not like when I download a Keylogger, I click the Keylog.exe button to fire it up .. Malicious code comes in all different sizes and shapes. I am sure you could hide a Virus or some Malware in a zip folder. In fact I am 100% sure that already happens on the interwebs.

Have you ever got a virus that "Asked" you if you wanted to install it ? .. seriously ..

Yes you do. In some way or another, yes you do. It can be bound to another .exe or you just click it because it says "You will be a millionair if you click this EXE you freaking moron.exe"

But, in some way. You click the .exe. The only way for this to work, it so code something into wow's addon lua to get it to run the .exe.... which isn't going to happen.

About your idea definition:
Generally. If you get an idea that's like a faceslap "WHY HASN'T ANYONE DONE THIS YET!" There is probably a pretty good reason why someone hasn't done it yet. Especially, if you have really no clue what you're talking about.

How dare a person suggest that there is a program out there, that 90% of 11Million people worldwide are using to download files to their computer. Without questioning or looking at the content. Surely there is absolutely no chance in hell that this could be used to distribute malicious software, viruses, and other such programs.

TBH .. get off my case man .. We get it .. a Keylogger needs to be activated .. but Good lord man .. there is a billion other ways I am sure that this can be used to get people to download your files. And at the end of the day .. thats all this was about .. Who the **** cares what kind of file, or program it is .. seriously .. it's the mere fact that it's an automated downloader used by shit tons of people.
