This is a very good idea. It would work for the lesser levels! +2 rep
Well, Blizzard have recently merged the Battle.net system and this has opened up a raft of potential new opportunities. Something I thought of today goes as follows. (set up a new phisher or use an existing one for this btw)
You can use this to advertise anything you like, not just Battle.net account merges.
It's quite important that you realise ingame spamming / advertising / phishing can and will get your account banned and may have consequences for your phisher. That's why I recommend using a scammed account and making a new phisher solely for this purpose.
The way this works is you're going to be promoting your website (via a pseudo "system message") as an important security fix.
1. Make a new character with a name that you can use to emote the scam. I recommend using ASCII characters to get names like "Important" or "Game" which you can then combine to form "Important Warning" or "Game Alert"
2. Get your character to a main city and use the emote system to spam a message periodically.
Use /em to bring up a chatbox for you to write in. If your name was "Important" then /em would display "Important"
3. Pick the right message!
Something like:
"Important Alert - Security concerns have been raised with the World of Warcraft Account Management system. For this reason, it is important for you to visitto update to the new Battle.net system, which is secure and risk-free. Thank you"
Obviously it works much better if your phisher is "battlenet.freehost.com" for example. Or use tinyurl to hide, etc.
What do you think?

l2search my dear
I was going to say yes, this does appear to be a repost, except yours was posted 8 hours ago, mine 10 hours ago. Hence why I found nothing in search and why this isn't a repost.
If there's some other explanation for the time/date stamps showing this isn't a repost, let me know
Updating first post with pics.
/fail.
This is the original post(posted 1 day ago right now). And malingshu's post is a repost(posted 23 hours ago right now).
Although I don't really think that malingshu stole your idea and posted it, cause I mean.. 1 hour isn't alot. Probably you both thought of the same scam, but malingshu posted it after dendra. However this still means that malingshu reposted since it's already been posted before.
Nice scam though!
Hm.
Ingame Scamming/Phising is very risky.
People can be banned if they fail.
Nice scam though, and use it at own risk.
No, that's why I'm not getting incredibly upset and angry that he's accusing me of reposting. Still, it's possible, he had a couple of hours, but I'm happy just to forget it.
Thanks for the feedback
And yes it is risky to phish ingame, i'll add to the first post that you should try to use a scammed account and a separate phisher. Tnx for reminding me
good idea m8
Thanks, nice1
Fanx for that.
Nice idea
Unfortanetly no one entered his informations to my phisher yet![]()
